switchblade key

Not to beat a dead horse, but has anyone found a good quality aftermarket switchblade key for the 4th gen that will operate the panic alarm and the rear window? I know it's been talked about before, but I'm wondering if there's anything new on the scene.

I've got one. I can't seem to find where I bought it but eBay I think. I had it programmed by the dealer as I didn't have a master key at the time, but there is a thread on here that shows you how to program it at home. I got it cut at m local hardware store for $5, it was $100 or so for the actual switchblade. Back window works and it's been going for the past year with no problems.

I had one from mykeyless on ebay. It was really nice but did not have the panic button. It was $70-80 I believe.

Same deal as xxaarraa, cut at a local store and programmed by the dealer although I've since programmed other keys myself.

I use the past tense because someone broke into my 4R a few years ago and stole the key along with some other items and I haven't wanted to spend the $80 again.

Hey Matt,

Dumb question but I am sure there is a logical explanation that I am not seeing, but why the #$@% would your key be in your vehicle without you being in it and somebody had to break into it to get it?

Sounds great...Did the panic button work? I'd be very grateful if you could recall a name brand or anything that could lead me to one of them...Thanks!

Thanks Matt...I'll try them. I ordered a regular transponder key and remote from them and they work great. I did have to have the dealer cut and program the key, but I was able to program the remote myself. I'd love to have the one-piece key. Sorry to hear you lost yours.

Dumb answer - I'm stupid. At the time I was living in an apt in Montgomery but I still had my house in Tuscaloosa so I had a bunch of extra keys. I kept the switchblade in the 4R so when I went places I could just carry a single key around and leave the big ring in the car. I hate walking around with a bunch of keys in my pocket and the switchblade key is fairly large (at least in terms of keys) so that made it even worse. I rarely carry more than my remote and ignition key in my pocket.
