Switching from 03-05 grill to 06-09 grill with questions

I was curious if there was anything else needed to make the switch? Does the newer grill use the same latching system? Any input would be appreciated.

It's not that simple. If you do a search you might find one of the threads that talk about this, but it fits against the bumper differently and I'm pretty sure the headlights and trim under them needs to be changed. If you look at the headlight swap threads you can see what I mean.

the 06 sits about an in lower and 1/2 in forward from the headlight garnish. You can use the same grill latch/lever thing . but, your gonna have to rig up another bar or line from the grill to the hood hook.

I have already switched headlights and headlight trim. Now that i have the Demello bumper there is plenty of room to clear the bottom of the newer grill. The rod was what i thought might be the issue since the newer style grill is taller

The latch should be fine though you might need to bend the rod to correct the angle. Sounds like you've got it all figured out otherwise. Might wanna swap out the blinker fluid while you have your grille out.

Haha.. Order the oem one it's worth the price difference. The aftermarket one is weaker in every way from the plastic and design. I found a good deal on an aftermarket one and it still works.

Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.

'06+ hood is the same as the '03-05, it just looks different because of the way the grille mounts. Same hood though.
