dirty pepboys!

so i went down to pepboys in parsippany, nj and the stupid clerk wouldnt give me the price. he saw the ad and looked puzzled at first and then he went over to the manager...thats when i knew i wouldnt get it for 20 bucks...the clerk came back over and said it was a misprint...dammit!...o well...maybe i'll try again tomorrow and hopefully get a different clerk...anyone know if any pepboys in the northern New Jersey area is honoring the ad price? thanks!

if the manager said it was a misprint, was there any letter in the store that proves it? well if not, ask for it. if they cant provide u with one, demand for the said discount sale.

anyone looking to sell?

Anybody buy extra sets of these headlights or looking to sell theirs(new)? If so please PM a price with shipping. Any suggestions on other cheap mods? I'll take some pictures of my new runner tomorrow after i wash it.

hurry!...silverstar 9006 for 19.95 on ebay

hey all,

Just wanted to tell anyone who still wants the silverstar 9006 a guy on ebay has them on buy it now for 19.95 a pair plus shipping. I ordered 2 pairs and the shipping was 8.50. Not too bad. my total was 48.40. Its not as cheap as pepboys but still a very good deal in my opinion. THe seller is j-lee_global. But you have to be quick, he only has 17 more pairs at the price. The auction started today and he started with like 50 pairs. The shipping cost for 1 pair is 6.95 so its not as great a deal if you only get 1 pair, but he also has the 9005 for the same price. So i'm thinkin he can combine the shipping.

I haven't had anyone flash their lights at me.

I've also looked stood infront of the truck, and didn't seem to be anymore glare then normal.

I've had mine in since last December, and haven't had any problems at all. When I first put them in, I turned them on for about an hour, and felt the harness to see if they might be too hot. They weren't even warm, I've also checked the reflected and don't see any signs of heat damage. So everything seems to be OK with this.

One note though, I didn't do this mod to the fogs. I was looking at the wires for these lights, and they seemed to be smaller, then the wire used for the low beam headlights.

So I wasn't quite sure if the wire could take the extra current draw. Maybe someone else might know, if the wire used on the foglights is indeed smaller the the wire used on the headlights? Strange since the both use a 9006 bulb, you would think they would use the same gauge wire, but it just looks smaller too me.

Thanks for the description, I ended up opting to stick with what Sylvania recommends. Your mod is probably fine, I'm just a wuss when it comes to electrical mods, and I would rather devote my time to other endeavors. Thanks anyway, and I'm sure someone else will end up following your lead.

When you switched to Silverstar bulbs what did you do for you sidemarker/parking lamp and fog lights? I would like to make it all look the same but I am having trouble finding anything to match. Silverstar is not offered in the parking lamp# 2825. Thanks For the help

SilverStars Might not last very long

Was reading the thread on the SilverStars and thought I would post my $.02

I got some low beams and I loved them. Much more clear vision at night and the white light was so much easier on the eyes.

However, I was discouraged after paying 19.99 a piece (way before the sale) and they only last about 9 months.

Just a heads up that your mileage may vary and you should check them after 6 - 9 months to make sure they are still lit up. Don't want to get a citation for a headlight out.

I have heard that they do not last as long, however for $25. pair (Sale price) and the extra safety and cool factor with using them. Even if I would have to replace them every 6 months it would only cost me $50. year. Its a price I feel is worth it.
