thats kool to know but honestly i wouldnt trust them just bc there are so many factors i would be worried about such as age of the bulbs, shipping damage, etc

Well not that bad if u cut ur daytime running light. Ive been using them with DRL for almost 2 years but itll help mine last longer now.
Oh ok, I do remember they were the silver and blue package. I remember they were $20 more then the next model down, and the next model up was similarly more expensive. I didnt think the next step up would have been worth the additional cost and were I to spend that much, Id have looked for PIAAs instead. As it is, for their great light balanced with the cost, Im glad I made the choice I did. I just cant imagine Id need the slightly additional light of the ultras as these already have me worried about getting pulled over, lol.

Silverstars are the best headlights I've ever put in any vehicle, bar none.

lol ya i think they arent too bright in the regular hhousing but i have them in my offroading lights and they are really bright in those... sometimes i use them to drive with near my house (really dark in the middle of nowhere) but ya i got pulled over once and given a warning bc cop thought i had 100w light bulbs in them!

I went through 2 sets in 2 yrs. The GE halogen I have now, are close to 2 yrs old.
I want to find better bulbs as these GE's are not the brightest, but I have had bad luck with the silverstars.
anyone running diff bulbs?

Yeah I've had pretty bad luck with the Silverstars too. I put a set in last April or May and one of the headlights was blown the beginning of the year....I believe I had them for 10 months. Keep in mind I have my DRLs disconnected too and rarely drove at night during the week during the duration of use.
I had even worse luck with them in my factory fogs. I got them at the same time, and one blew around Thanksgiving. I replaced it. And it blew before Christmas (though, I do remember thinking the package on that one looked quite old). Then the other one blew around Christmas too. Maybe I had bad luck with them, but I definitely didn't go with them again. I was fairly happy with them though when they worked.
Now I'm running PIAA bulbs in the heads and fogs. I went with the Intense White ones and they are awesome. I left my old silverstar in and replaced the blown bulb to compare the two and the difference was amazing. I thought the silverstars looked fairly close to white and bright, but these PIAAs made them look yellow like stock halogens.
Just my $0.02. It seems kind of hit or miss with the silverstars as far as longevity is concerned. Hopefully these PIAAs last longer, but we'll see.

if uve had bad luck with the silverstars and u like GE more, u should try the equivalent. They are sold at walmart also... GE Nighthawks.

Nope. I actually used some latex gloves just to be sure I didn't get any oils on them. And I still didn't touch the bulbs during install. I had heard lots of mixed reviews on them before I purchased them, but went ahead and got them anyways. Like I said, I liked them just fine while I had them. BUT I do like these PIAA bulbs a bit better (a bit brighter and whiter).....so if they last any longer, I'll be happy. Only time will tell though.

My Ultra's died after a year, which sucks... since they were way brighter than my current bulbs.
I'd love an Ultra with a 100+watt highbeam... and a better lowbeam. 55/65 doesn't output well enough.
