Synthetic Motor Oil for 4.7 V8?

Started using Amsoil 15 years ago... Been using Amsoil for 8 years now in my 4Runner, 15K or 1 year OCI.

I run Mobil 1 in both our v8 4runners and in my pro-touring car,that does get run hard! I ran it in my old jeep tj before I sold it. I love the stuff! I run it 15,000 in both our t4r's,mine has 190 on it and the wifes has 170 ish on it,they never burn a drop.

15K OCI???.. what kind of filters do you run?..i use mobil 1 5w 30, and follow the 5k/6months OCI. i use fram filter 3x, though my truck is v6

Amsoil filters.... 1 filter per 15k miles

OCI Depends? Not the wrap your arse depends..

Depends on distance one drives. Short trips only to/from work under 10 miles is harder on oil since moisture don't burn off which breaks down oil. Change oil more frequently on those vehicles.
My wifes car is short tripper but we try to drive it more each week but that don't always get done so I change it more often, about 3k since the year mark determines it mostly. I still run full syn in it though.

Just one other thing most people never do is change that PCV valve every 80-100k. My 4Runners wasn't sealing right at 100k. Tried to clean it out with no avail so out it went. It's a cheap forgotten maintenance item for sure so just a remind here. It can cause some havoc.

Thank you for mentioning the PCV. I just received a new automotive lesson! I've got 180,000 miles on Ruffian now so I think I'll replace that part at the next oil change.
