T-Case bushing broke/fell inside case

I removed the t case shifter and noticed what I thought were metal shavings all around where the bushing is/was. It was mostly gone, with only a small section still intact. Im assuming it shouldn’t be that big of a deal, haven’t noticed any problems driving so far. But I was curious if this is something I should be worried about.

I wouldn't worry about it. You could drain it and refill lube. If you ever have a bad Tcase, they are cheap and plentiful in scraped rigs, $150-200ish and easy to swap out.
Ooh yeah edit - forgot to mention bushing, easy to replace poly bushing.

you can get a new poly based one from Marlin ( blue one )

probably not a huge deal, but if it was me I would drain and refill the transfer case. probably one of the easiest drain/fill operations on the truck. you will notice gear lube seeping from the top and running down the sides of the case and eventually it will turn into a very slow drip.

If the sifter is servery warn. I would replace it and a new bushing. If super concerned, you can flush the transfer case with gear grease. Those are really tough so I doubt there is any issue with it.

I believe the drain plug has a magnet on it like the differentials and Transmission plugs do. All the metal should be stuck on that magnet { not 100% on that magnet plug} I am sure another user can confirm or debunk that.;-)

No magnet on the transfer case plugs. No magnets on the manual tranny plugs either.

I bought 'gold plugs' magnetic plugs for my drains on both.

Thanks for the confirmation. I be changing mine or just gluing a magnet to my plugs.
