I finally installed the T&H grill guard and CATZ fog lights this weekend. I am VERY pleased. The grill guard was a bit of a pain to install. The brackets were the easy part. Getting the guard to line up with the holes to install the bolts was a real bitch. I had my wife put all her wieght (all 105 lbs.) pushing while I was under the truck pushing with my knee, just to align the holes. After a handfull of attempts, we managed to get it. Then the fog lights needed some modification to fit. All I can say is a dremel is the best investment ever. I have had the dremel for close to ten years and used it a couple of times, up until I purchased this truck. Now in the last year I have used it 20-30 times. Using it to install my speakers and now to mod the brackets for the fogs.

These fogs have a really cool film on the glass so when the lights are off there is a purple tint to them, looks real cool with the Galactic Grey....

and here is a pic of the clearance, they do not stick out at all. Great lights, I highly recommend. I got mine on Ebay for $78, they sell for retail at over $200

Nice. I just got a set of Catz MSX off ebay for $69 shipped just b/c they were so cheap. I placed a bid for $45 and didn't think I'd win.

Did you have to dremel the tops of the bracket? That's where I see it being an issue. The Hella FF75s that I have is in there but it's a really tight fit and I can't get it aimed higher. It's pointing at the ground about 40' in front.
 
Does the T&H have the mounting points on the bottom of the top bar or on the top of the middle bar? It seems wierd that they put the mounting points there and limit the size of the lights you can use.

Sharp4runner - I think the newer bars have tabs on the top bar. Mine is on the middle bar.
 
Thanks for the compliments guys. Yea, Bobby I had to cut the top off the bracket. The fit is pretty tight, I was able to aim them at a good spot though. Sharp4runer, the mounting point is atop the middle bar. If you look at the T&H website, it looks like the mounting points are on top of the top bar. I'm not sure that would look too good anyway, IMHO. I actually wanted the mounting points on the middle bar.

Mine is on the lower bar as well. Just to clarify for the people without this bar, the mounting points are not just holes in the lower bar, they are a seperate bracket welded to the bar. I wanted the mounting points here too, but after seeing a few people put there lights in there I am not sold on the idea anymore. I don't like that the lights don't line up with the fogs. I agree that it is a little odd, that they would place the brackets there and restrict our light options. I remember seeing a pic of any early version of this bar that had the lower bar with twice the light room it has now.

Oh, ZOSO, I am surprised I like how yours looks. Is CATZ a good quality manufacturer/product?
 
I am impressed so far. the quality of the materials seems real high. The glass is very thick and the housing is made of aluminum, I believe, so there is no chance of rusting. Included in the box are a couple of bracketing options, so if you wanted you could mount the lights directly to the bumper or the lower grill on your truck. The wireing seems pretty soffisticated with a high quality relay and in-line fuse. I am happy, especially for the price I got them for on Ebay.
 
Catz are probably equivalent to PIAA in quality of materials. They're also priced as such but I think ZOSO and I got a killer deal on ebay.

I still have my Hellas installed but I might switch to the Catz when I have time.
 
I had those same fogs about 6 years ago. They were good for a while, but I can't talk about reliability because they were stolen 3 months after I got them.

Invest in some "anit-theft" screws. Won't stop a real theif, but will discourage amateurs.
 
Measure please

I am interested in the bar but I am not sure if the vehicle will fit in the garage with the bar installed.

Could you measure and tell me exactly how much it extends out front?

I am guessing about 4 inches or so but I need to know exactly.

I am thinking about buying the chrome short bar.
