T&H Eurotech Bull Bar Installation...Stealer is Oblivious

I am planning on buying a staineless steel T&H Eurotech Bull Bar for my T4R. I am trying to figure out what I'm going to do in terms of installing the bar. I am not really sure if I can install it myself, so I called my local dealer's service department and this is how the convo went:

Me: "I was wondering if you guys install bull bars, and how much would that run me?"
Dealer: "Uhhh, I'm not sure I know what that is."
Me: "You've never heard of a bull bar?"
(And then I explain to him what it is.)
Dealer:"You're best bet would be to go to the local Line-X store, they should be able to help you".

And I said thanks for your time and hung up. Does anyone have a clue where I could go to get this bar installed? I figured the dealer could do it, but it turns out they don't even know what a bull bar is. Thanks guys.

To be honest they wouldnt want to spend their mechanics time to do that. Unless you want to pay their mechanic by the hour (which isnt worth it). It is really easy to install it.

If you arent very handy, try to look for people on the board in your area. Usually if there is a meet or anything like that people will be willing to help out, in exchange for a few beers....

Just ask a friend to help you on a nice day and treat him/her to dinner...my 2 cents

I have it installed myself, it's really easy and you just need regular tool. I would say the whole process is less than an hour. PM me if you have any questions for install.

Sounds good. I have never really done any type of installation of after-market accessories for any of my autos. I guess I'll give it a whirl and see how it goes. Do you think I will need a lift in order to get the job done? Or do you think I can just lay under the front?

I have a Manik Brushguard and I just layed down on some cardboard. Im small but it should be enough room. If not, just lift up the front.

I have Strona Bullbar, very similar to the EuroTech.

The T&H EuroTech bar should be even simpler to install than the T&H Low Bullbar and the Strona Bullbar (same bars). The EuroTech doesn't have the upper mounting points like the bullbars that come through the lower grille in the bumper. You don't need a jack, the lower mounting points should be right by the lower part of the radiator. There should be two brackets that are mounted to the frame. Loosely attach those brackets to the frame. Then line up your EuroTech bar to those brackets and screw in the bolts. Double check the alignment and screw everything down. It would help to have a helper give you hand, so one could hold the bar up to the brackets while the other puts in the bolts.

It took me about 45 minutes to install my bullbar. If you search for the Strona bullbar groupbuy thread, I have posted detailed instructions on the installation near the end of the thread. It's like page 17 out of the 20-25 pages.

But definately, you don't need the dealer for the install. (Dealer shop rate is $72-80/hr.) Grab a buddy, gf or wifey to help you for all of like 10 minutes. The bar should be like 5lbs or so. It's really light.

They are easy but the dealer's advice is not bad. Bedliner / truck accessory stores do this all the time. You can look up 'truck accessories' in your yellow pages.

Yea, I was a little confused at first why he referred me to go to the bedliner place, but it makes sense now. Thanks for the response. I guess if I can't handle the taks myself, I could always take it there.

Try it out. If you cant do it, take out the bolts you put in and take it to them. The most you will lose is a few minutes of your time.

That's what I am going to do. I saw a picture that someone uploaded of where the brackets connect and it looked like it was fairly easy to get to. I just don't want to mess it up.

Thanks for the input. Hopefully they send me some directions. Otherwise, I'll probably just end up taking it to a professional to get it installed. From the way people are talking, it sounds fairly simple. But if they don't send me the instructions, I might be a little lost.
