I, as promised, would like to change my nomination to Intruder as I did not fully read and do not want to nominate myself if that is not the norm. Plus his truck is nicer than mine anyway
Not only does he have an awesome rig, built exactly as I have built mine, but he is one hell of an asset to this forum. Extremely knowledgeable on all things offroad, quick to lend a hand or take a measurement, and just all in all an awesome guy. I do not know that he has a build thread, but he is also all over the Off-Road thread like myself.
Hah, guess I should pay more attention. I appreciate the nomination even though I didn't make the cut.

This gets added when the gen who most likely needs free stuff the least (because these guys obviously have enough money to buy new cars while the rest of us are driving used) comes up?
I hope it continues when the other gens are up again...

I know many people choose not to buy new trucks for lots of reasons other than the money... Many people just don't like the 5th gen styling, some don't want the payment even if they can afford it, and some just like their older T4R's. Just saying....

I know multimillionaires who drive older vehicles. My boss (another millionaire) drives a 10 year old Volvo daily. I also know a kid who works two jobs so he can drive a brand new GMC pickup. It matters not one bit the correlation between net worth and vehicle ownership. You have much to learn if you feel this way. Envy is always ugly.

Yes, it's no secret I'm 5th gen biased, as I own one. I came from a 3rd. I would like to continue this every month as well. But at the same time, I would also like to see other sponsors 'pony up' and support this community. I intend to reach out to them and see if they can give something away also. It doesn't even have to be a HUGE item. But something to make this type of thread fun. I figure we support the sponsors by purchasing things from them. I think we (as sponsors) can give back a little.
This is also a reason I wanted to give something away to the person that came in LAST. We're not all lucky enough to have enough money, skills, machine shops, or even a garage to do our own work. That's why High Tech wants to support the guy who comes in last.
I've only been involved in this community since April of '11. And I, personally, think that it's the most 'usable' forum. There is very little hostility to one another, trolling, whining, and even search police, compared to many of the Jeep forums I've been a part of. I've helped several 3rd and 4th gen guys here at our shop. There's even a write up of the 4th gen limited air bag conversion-coil spring lift.
My point is, I would like to support this entire forum. Regardless, of what gen it is. I'm sorry if this happen to come up for the '5TH Gen' T4ROTM, but that's how it worked out. I will do my best to continue to support this community (online and local) and ask that others do the same.

@Ducmonsta: I know if I were you, I would donate to my generation first as well! I like how you took initiative to be a full on sponsor as well as providing free gear. You might be a pioneer on T4R.org that leads to something super cool! And thank you for donating to us, we all know that you don't "have" to do that. Keep it up though.
We will all be waiting to get handouts from our sponsors!!

I agree, it's a very nice gesture and something he didn't have to offer. I do hope the sponsors take note of this, it would be nice to see some support around here and I'm not talking about raffles, I hate that crap and never bother. But something like this is a grey idea
I think it's good that there is tons of 5th gen support, I mean the fact that Toyota continues the tradition of making great 4runner is really something That shouldn't be looked down on.
Of course I'm extremely biased towards 4th gens but I was a razors edge away from buying a 2002 salsa pearl sport edition but couldn't find one. I also love the 5th gens but if I can talk myself into having another truck in The family it'll probably end up being a fj40
Anywho what I'm trying to say is it doesn't come down to money for most people, it's really preference.

I also think it's great that he's helping out and sponsoring, and I really think it's awesome that he's giving it to last place instead of first.

Nice gesture, Ducmonsta! Now you've given everyone a true conundrum--how to get nominated into the poll, then convince everyone their rig stinks (compared to the others, anyway) so they don't get voted for (LOL). Seriously, though, I like your thinking, giving the guy with the least-developed project some goodies to add.
