Tablet Mounts

So, I want to use my iPad Mini for navigation and other tasks.. This is the best position/method I have been able to come up with for it. A RAM mounts suction cup, arm and a magnetic mount … I need to be able to easily move it in and out and I have other items below.

Does anyone have anything good they have come up with..?

I bought a cheap mount off amazon that mounts to the passenger seat bolt.

Fits both my mini and full size iPad. Works great for movies, Gaia, maps.

Holy smokes! Are there any moderators left? We miss you 1engineer.
No disrespect to the OP, its just there are a lot of new threads started that dont need to be if a simple search was done. And if there is a new thread started that asks the same question as many other threads, they could be combined by the moderators.

I don't use a tablet mount often so wanted one that wasn't permanently attached. I got a ProClip mount, it attaches to the side of the console and holds the tablet very securely.

I have looked at those. I like the way it mounts to the seat bolt.
Do you get any vibration..?

I have proclip mount also on the side of the console with ram mount attachments on it and it hold my Samsung Mini Tablet perfectly. I bought the mount that fits the tablet perfectly instead of the X-mount a lot of people use. No issues at all and everything has held up great.

+1 for proclip mount

Another +1 for the Proclip Mount. I wanted the no drill/screw option into my 4Runner so I used the Proclip Mount for the console. I then screwed in the ball mount to the Proclip mount using 4 small screws, added the socket arm, and iPad mount. I also use a headrest ball-mount mounted to the passenger's headrest, so I can just quickly detach the arm and xmount from the center console and move it to the back for my kid to watch the ipad in the back seat.

I use the 9.7" iPad and I must admit, there is wobble/vibration on rough terrain. If I were to do it again, I would elect to use the iPad mini instead. Or if I wanted to drill, I'd add a brace like SwellRunner did shown on his YouTube HERE.

Note: If you're going to use ram mounts, the mounting balls and sockets come in different diameters. Be sure to use and match the correct size for the weight of your device.

Who gives a shit

For the life of me I cannot understand why people here feel the need to be hall-monitors and try to prevent any new discussion from occurring on topics :der:

Let's just shut the forum down and use it like an archive, lest we start a thread that someone once talked about in the past :frusty:

It'll wobble a little but nothing crazy. My wife has no problems watching movies while driving down the highway and I used it just fine scrolling through Gaia maps while out west. Worth every penny.

There's a thread that started a couple of weeks ago about 2019 current mount solutions.
Why wouldn't it be more beneficial to use one thread to combine all the ideas rather than have multiple threads to sort through to find your answer?
Just saying a couple years ago that similar threads used to get merged to be more efficient for everyone, but if people want numerous threads for 1 topic that's fine, it's not my decision.

How is it for watching movies while driving? :lookout:
