Tacoma Sport Trailer - Yay or Nay?

I just stumbled upon the Tacoma Sport Trailer, the overland trailer made from the bed of a Taco, announced back in December.

What say you - Yay or Nay and why?

Tacoma's have a composite bedliner, but still it is probably heavy. How much is it? Guessing $30K?

Fifteen or so years after they quit making it, everyone will want one to go with their vintage Tacoma.

That being said, if the price was right and I had a Taco - sign me up. It's a super cool way to package something that a lot of folks are building anyway.

I agree. I would much rather have a small camper trailer. In fifteen years you will have to give the camper trailer away, with the squatter inside, and this Tacoma Sport trailer will be in Hemmings for six figures.

The package in general seems pretty good. I can’t decide whether the truck bed concept is cool or cheesy. Leaning toward cheesy, but could be convinced otherwise. Agree that it will be a pricey collector’s item at some point. I wonder it they’ll actually produce them and what the price will be.

If it ever makes it into production, you can bet your ass it will be ungodly expensive.

Like so expensive you could probably buy a second Tacoma to tow behind your Tacoma for the same amount of money.

Toyota sells Toyota branded coolers for like $400. This is gonna be a total ripoff even compared to the total ripoff anything "overland" already is. This is for Instalanding bros who want their truck and trailer to match.

And instead of having a trailer with a normal body that can get beat up on the trail you can have one that will get body damage just like your truck. Hard pass.
