Tail Lights LED Project

Thanks for this post. I just got an '05 LTD and hated the OEM lights (pinkish colour).

I was really hoping the newer LED lights ('06) would be plug-and-play. When I found out they were I ordered online and put them in. Dead easy and it makes a big difference to the esthetic of the T4R...thanks again

The rear LEDs are definitely on of the best up-grades you can do IMO.
One other is to make the rear bumper reflectors into operational lights.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread ... and apologies if answered elsewhere already but my search kung-fu didn't seem to find exacly what I was looking for:

I want to swap in the LED lights into my 04 and I see them from partznet just fine .... looks like about 320 shipped for the pair.

I see some aftermarket lamps on ebay that say they are direct replacement: ebay led lamps

... and from examining the pictures compared to those posted by the OP in post #2 of this thread .... they seem look the same as far as I can tell.

My question: Has anybody used some like these (aftermarket, non-oem) and to they look and function the same? Any issues?

I can save 120 bucks if so ... but don't want them to look "aftermarket" ... I want OEM.

I have no experience with the lights you linked to so I can't comment on them. They look the same, but that doesn't mean anything.
I have the OEM lights from Partznet and have had them on for several years now without issue. My advice would be to go with the OEM ones. You can't beat Toyota quality. They are awesome lights.
Sure, the OEM ones are more $$ but you are dealing with known quality, can't say the same for the after market ones.

The problem with the no name ones is, you never know what type of LEDs they used. They could have used some really cheap quality LEDs that will burn out within 6 months. Or the lens are not sealed well, and they start to get condensation after the first time you wash it.

The OEM ones would be worth the extra month, since Toyota designed them so they wouldn't have to replace them under warranty.
