Has anyone ever put a Factory Toyota spare carrier onto their 4runner without the factory tire carrier?
I know that the tailgates need to be swapped. But how do i mount the carrier arm to the body of the truck? The factory mount holes in the body (from the truck w/ tire carrier) appear to have a reinforceing bracket behind the body panel where the bolts thread in.
Can this be swapped or does every runner have this bracket and you just need to make the holes in the body for the bolts?
