See… The dealers are not always the enimies. The dealers will be making a crap load of money off of this recall and they want everyone of these recalls to come into their shop. The technicians will often hurt personally due to the low pay of the recall however the service advisors, service manager, and dealership as a whole will profit greatly from recalls such as this. The reason being is that technicians profit only from the work they themselves personally do. Service advisors, service managers, general managers and the dealership as a whole do not get paid simply off of the work they themselves do but rather from the work that the dealership/their department performs. Service advisors and managers get paid off of gross profit therefore they can have one or two technicians performing low paying recalls ( such as this one) but at the same time have many more other technicians performing higher paying work and they are profiting off of both of these jobs at the same time . Trust me I work at a dealer and the dealership does not want to turn these recalls away. They are very much tied down by parts availability and that is a reality. But the fact is these recalls will take time to perform because dealerships have limited personnel and limited parts availability.Tustin Toyota just got the replacement part and my 4Runner is going back in. Two day turn around time
