Well, judging by your first posting of the lemon law "either replaced or bought back", if you're still driving it, then you didn't win the case. But I too will wait until tomorrow to see your proof of outcome.
There IS a TSB issued for model years past 04', I have one for mine. Once those clever IT guys figure out why my Adobe reader has vanished, I'll find it and post it up for proof that it does exist.
Yes, there are folks on here that have had the TSB done, and have not had the odor return. My neighbor's 04' had it done long ago, and he's not had a problem since.
I'm curious of your reasoning though about the ECU being the cause. If this were true, then why did Honda have such problems with this exact same thing on their 2.5 V6 Acura Legends in the 80's, that was solved with a different cat converter? I know, because like I mentioned earlier, our 86' stunk like hell when under throttle.
I assume you checked your license plate for the rattle in the back, right? You got some kind of rubber feet on the back of it, or in a frame with some none metal backing on it? It's tight, right?
I do hope you know, that if you don't produce the proof tomorrow, you'll probably be heckled pretty badly. I've got to admit, I'm a bit sceptical myself, but we'll see, right?

You barked at the dealership's service counter, they tried to explain to you what is common on the car, you didn't like it, and threw a fit. Now, they're being kind enough to give it one more try. After that, I bet they simply tell you to get lost. After this attempt to satisfy you, they're done. If you don't like the car, try to sue, they'll simply isolate you and the verdict will simply be "tough, sell it, trade it in, do whatever. Millions of other folks aren't and haven't been filing into our dealerships with their lawyers". You don't want to listen to us, the majority, then fine.
The car stinks sometimes....All things rattle....the thump is a company-wide characteristic, PERIOD!
