Talk me out of Cooper Discoverer AT3??

BUT, I'm happy with the Coopers even after driving on Michelins for well over 130k miles.

I bought the vehicle like this. So I don’t have before and after measurements. I agree the wheel well doesn’t look very filled out. Not sure on 285s. I was more fearful of the vehicle being sluggish going up another tire size and wasn’t going to regear.

where are you at in the 'philly burbs'?

How are folks seeing these wear towards the back half of their life?

@ 40k miles and they feel noticeably slicker, to the point that with 8/32" tread left I'm considering replacing before winter.

I have a set of the original AT3 on a Nissan Frontier. Not quite to the back half of it's life yet, probably 20-25k on them with 1x/yr tire rotations. Haven't seen/heard/felt anything yet but posts like yours are making me anxious as the wear/tear gets up there.

I also just put a set of the new AT3 4S on the 4Runner. Will see how the two different tire builds stack up as the mileage come. Curious to see if the 4S remedied the common complaints of the original versions.

I'm about 1/4 of the way through mine, fits my needs for what I need. My main issue with them is that they performance goes WAY down when it's raining and driving on asphalt. This could be partnered with my brakes, but still a surprising amount compared to other tires I've had.

i'm creeping towards 40K on my AT3s and they are wearing nicely. still lots of tread left.

my next set of tires will most likely be some tall skinny ST maxxes.
