Talls and 5100's

I got a set of talls in for my 2000 Limited 4x4 and I'm looking to replace the struts/shocks with Bilstein 5100's, but which part number are you guys running? I ask because everywhere I look, the 5100's are not listed as available for our truck.

I want just a very mild lift, at most 1.5", so would you even recommend that setup or should I just stick with the tall springs and another set of shocks/struts. I thought about going with the Bilstein 4600's (or the yellow HD's whatever that number is), but have heard a good amount of rough ride comments about them, ergo the reason I was thinking the 5100's instead.

They don't make 5100s for 4Runners. You have to get either the Tacoma or Tundra ones. Tacomas have 3 height settings, and Tundras have 5. I believe places like Toytec, Wheelers Offroad, and Sonoran have them available for $200 a pair for the front. Maybe check their website for numbers?

Front Bilstein Height adjustable 5100 shocks

I have had two different 4Runners, one with Tacoma 5100s and my current one with Tundra 5100s. Buy the Tundra 5100s. On my 99 4wd I put on the Tacoma 5100s and set them at the 1.6" lift setting. They were way too soft, in my opinion. Currently I'm running the Tundra 5100s on the second notch along with Toytec 3" springs and the ride is better. Much more controlled. I know that I'm not comparing apples to apples with the Toytec spring, but I never felt like the Tacoma 5100s had enough dampening to handle the weight of the 4Runner.

Yes, you can put 5100s on the front and leave it on the very bottom setting for no lift. You can also purchase Tundra 5100 for the rear and swap out the lower bushing to use them on the rear of your 4Runner. That's what I'm running.

Someone else may need to chime in here but I don't see why they wouldn't fit. I'm running these with the Toytec coils but the coils are the same diameter as stock coils so I'm 99.9% sure that they will fit. By the way, I'm using my stock top mount with these as well.
