Tattoos?

Finally made the jump. After visiting enough tattoos parlos and working over numerous designs, I finally got a nice tat for my mid life crisis. A nice full color Chinese dragon curling up my upper arm balancing a flaming orb on its nose. Inside the orb is my last name, which coincidentally has the word "dragon" in it as the major character."


Yes, it hurt when the needle went up to my deltoid where it hits close to bone. Yes it hurt when filling in the color going over teh same spot numoerous times.

So who else has tats and where?

Sorry no tats and no current plans to get any.
 
Pics.......once it heals preferably. No tats here either. I'd consider something small if I was passionate enough about it........and no, I'm not gonna get a 4runner tat.

i've got some tattoos. most notably an asian dragon on my shoulder i've had for 16 years that could use a little touch up now. i also had one of an ex's name which was laser removed 10 years ago. i know, i know, i was young and stupid...
 
well at least you removed it! seems like everyone else who gets a name tattoo'd on them leaves it, or tries to change it into something else entirely and its even worse looking. i have one ill put on here if this turns into the "post your tat" thread.
 
I gotta few tats... I might get a tribal sun with a yota bull in the middle... Because if they change their symbol or it gets old I could always fill the middle in...:)

If I get the yota one, I'll post a pic.

dunno if I have the NUTS to do it though.
 
Tolerable pain.

It feels like someone stinking a needle in a bit and dragging it around your skin. You get used to it and I actually bought a book ot read--my tat took 2 hours nad 15 minutes.

Certain parts of the skin hurt more becuase it has more nerves or thinner. It was ok when hte needle was pricking my tricpet where you normally take a shot. It hurt more when the needle went around to the bicep area as the skin is thinner. It jurt much more when it went to the deltoid as it is cloer to bone. I was gritting and wincing when the needle ran over some nerve spots where it jolted down my arm like an electric bolt.

I figured it's not that bad if plenty of women can tolerate it tattoo'ed across their boobs, their chests, around the nipples, their ankles (OUCH!), and close to the public area. IF they can do it........I couldn't chicken out.

I will not get nipple rings. I don't care what you call me. I will not get nipple rings.......

I got those too.

But seriously, my band on my upper arm hurt worse than the nipple rings, when they got to the underside of the arm towards the arm pit. I think that hurt worse than the nipples...
 
Nipples being pierced don't hurt as much as the inside of the arm being tattooed, at all!

Man, when I got my first tattoo and the lady did the part on the inside of my arm near the arm pit, it was swollen there for daysssss and hurt so badly - it was like someone scraping skin off with a plastic spoon! (not that I would know)
 
Got a few

One on my arm, flash off a wall from when I was 18. My last name on my back, the small of it, so technically thats six tatoos there, there shaded black and in Old E styling. Then I have a fairly large custom designed one on my right calve muscle. Its all about my childhood in the swamps of Louisiana, so yes, its in the "New Orleans Saints" symbol the Fluer de leaue. Got a pic of my leg one here somewhere, but the others are not worthy of being posted.

I have plans for many more as they are addictive, but my career in the military is taking an upward turn and I need to wait on getting more or not get any more depending on how high I would like to go on the "Officer" side.

You can't even tell but I've got big calves so it was a big tat. It took around 3 1/2 hours and it has alot of detail. Oh yeah, this i my mug shot too:)

As a former army officer, I can tell you that the brass frowns on it. I don't think there is a reg against it, but like so many unwritten things, officers do not have moustaches, officer's wives don't work--or should not work (implies the military isn't paying enough which is true, but it also encourage the "hen house" affect of teh OWC--Officer's Wives Club where they prefer to donate time for teh Red Cross, afternoon tea, etc, and no no to tats unless you can keep it under wraps all the time. Officers are supposed to be "gentlemen", hahahahahaahaahaha

Since my tat is on my upper bicept area and I wear long sleeve dress shirts and suit all day, no one sees it, and even in casual dress it stays pretty much hidden in t-shirt or polo shirt.

Get it in an area that isn't easily seen and you will be fine.

I always wanted a UPC code in the center of my back just below the collar line.
 
Yeah

I know its frowned upon thats why I stopped, I'm going to try through the OCS/OTS route so I will be competing against silly villians/ civilians. All my records are superb and I have a 3.8 GPA, I just need to take the OQT and process the paperwork when I'm ready.
