Temporary muffler rear pipe fix

Update.

Walker Quiet-Flow SS #56177 at Advance Auto in Michigan is U$188 (+gaskets+tax+exchange+travel+import tax) = over C$300. Same muffler at retail list is C$363. Stores were quoting C$259 but need to order it. Picked it up at an Auto Parts store (had it in stock) and they gave me the trade price: C$183 (+gaskets+tax) = C$223 + bolts all in.

Now to get the PB Blaster on the front bolts. Hope to reuse those and the springs. The rear bolts are beyond salvaging and will get cut off.

Thought I'd chime in since I just had the exact same symptoms and issue and I'm also in Toronto, I ordered part #56177 from amazon.ca and came to $170CDN shipped. Looks like low grade SS and has crush bends but for the price I'm not gonna complain. I have to install it this weekend.

Just reporting back after the install. It's noticeably louder than the OEM part but i'd still call it reasonably stock. Perfect fit.

This exact same thing happened to me, had to pay a local shop to cut off the tailpipe above the flange and weld a new elbow back to the muffler exit.... all for $95 out the door ......
