Tensioner Pulley Same As Lower Idler Pulley?

I am changing put all the pulleys and I’m trying to figure out if the lower idler pulley is the same as the tensioner pulley? I thought I read somewhere that they were the same, but I could be wrong. I can’t seem to find if this is true or not.

If not, where should I look? Amazon would be ideal for quick delivery.

No one can say without knowing which engine you have and what year as some of those parts change in earlier 4th Gens.

Sorry about that, it’s an 06 4.0 2wd.

I did purchase a pulley off amazon but it’s not correct. The belt looks like it rides way toward the back and I’m still getting some clicking noise. I just ordered the entire assembly and I am going to swap the pulleys and try that out.

I'd honestly steer clear of Amazon for critical parts, unless you see a clear name brand. Most auto parts stores should be able to get you what you need as soon or faster, with better quality (probably) and better support if something breaks.

I have the 4.7 and the tensioner and idler are different, but I've never worked on the v6.

100% agreed on Amazon garbage. Amazon and eBay are known to have substandard parts inside packaging with quality names on the outside. Buy quality OEM from an online Toyota vendor, then don't worry about it for years to come.
