its kinda hard to commit to spending that kinda money when you dont know what kinda discount is being offered... i for one am in the market for a RTT but im not gonna be shelling out $1200+ on a product that i dont know exsactly what the cost will be until after i have "bought it".... sorry thats just not how i do business. and anyone who does is a fool in my book, or they have more money than common sense.

What is the discount for the GB?

I agree it would be much better to have the prices laid out so that it was easier to make an informed decision. The reason we can't though is because of MAP pricing, minimum advertised price. Since Tepui deals with retailers like Bass Pro Shop it is really a necessary evil if we want to do this group buy.

The one major thing fixing me pause is that all the campsites I've ever been to in California have designated parking and ban vehicles from being in the site.

I think these tents are cool as hell, especially if you are doing a family road trip and wasn't to camp at 5 different sites along the way. It would pay for itself in hotel costs on the first big trip. Most women would never agree to stop camp at five different sites vs hotels but with one of these you may convince them.

If i get in on a GB this summer it will probably be for the CVT brand RTTs. Both are nice for sure, i just like some features on their offerings more. Not to mention theirs is a guaranteed 30% off.

Yes they are cheap but there is a reason for everything...

I have brought you all togther here today to ask you a very important question. Which tent should go with for the 4runner?! I get a lot of feed back on Taco world but it is mainly "truck" related reasons they go with one over another. So what would be best for a 4runner do you think?

i dont know tupie tents that well i really only know the ARB and the CVT tents... that being said id go for a 2-3 man and no more. our 4runners are a lot smaller than most suvs with the RTT and we have less pay load capacity than the tacomas, our springs are softer, and that tents has to go on the roof, thus raising the COV. tacomas have the luxury of putting the tents right on the bed rails or half way up ect, and they have leaf springs that hold the weight better.

i say get a small 3 man tent or a big 2 man. the lighter the better. sorry i cant be any more help.

when i get back from afganistan next year ill be getting a CVT tent for my runner and i will probably be faced with the same questions so i might come looking for you to give some imput on yours and things you liked dislike and what not.

These things look really cool, but I don't get it...

Why would you want to sleep in a tent on top of your truck? The folded dimensions look huuuuuuge, and you have to climb down a ladder while delirious and seeking your midnight piss location. Not to mention you could buy the Taj Mahal of ground based tents for that price.

There's probably something I'm missing, right? Like I said, they look totally rad and well built. Just don't understand the reason...

They are dry, flat surface, usually warmer, and setup in 5 min. Other than that you are spot on lmao.

I'm thinking pretty much the same thing. I am going to get the kukenam which in CVT terminology is the mount bachelor. The reason being that for use with a trailer, if I get off my butt and build one, it will be best.

I too would have gone with the Kukenam or maybe its "ruggedized" version if i were to get a Tepui. Either way i am sure you will love. Im taking a hard look at the Mt. Shasta in CVT land.
