I may have missed it too, but I read this as OP ordered said product, received something that didn't fit, and contacted vendor only to receive escalating condescending communications. Seems OP was willing to help test fit and give vendor input to receive correct product, but got more attitude. Now it seems that the vendor has come here to try and save face by explaining that attitude was due to health problems. Dislaimer.....I may have reading comprehension deficits.

perhaps you guys missed the part where that was sent as a template to confirm fit and would be followed by a finished product after confirmation....

That wasn't the case at all. The poorly welded bracket was my replacement. Even when I asked for a regular bracket after a test-fit I was only offered another welded and powder coated bracket.

The amount of patience and tolerance you've shown throughout this entire process is remarkable.

This was a test fit Bracket. As I told you in the email for the brackets we were having issues with the shop that was bending the brackets. That a powder coated bracket would be issued to you when I got them in stock. If you want to rip my company please get your facts straight.

For the welding to all the other people that wants to rip Orange Boxx in them trying to provide a product for your 4 runner thank you for showing hard working people out here just how petty you all can be. Yes social media is how you want to take care of it.

engineeer here wanted to tell me he would make the bracket himself if I would send him the information for it. I worked too hard for someone else to make anything for us.

The Bracket issue has been taken care of. I fired the company that could not manufacture the part per the drawing. I am sorry that this has happen but it has also shown me that i am not perfect as the rest of you think you are.

This customer here. Had the same problem. As the type of business I run we people can talk to someone in not demanding. Things get worked out. Yes We made a mistake. Yes We fixed it as soon as we could.

I make/fab a lot of stuff for people and if I make a mistake I always make it right. I usually don't even charge lol, but if I did I damn sure wouldn't use your business model.

In my work life, I have been a Manager for well over 20 years dealing with the public in retail. I can tell you that just from the above post, I would never, ever buy anything from your company. EVER.

The customer is always right- even when they are not, Successful companies learn this quickly. You have a lot to learn about customer service and the post above will send potential customers running for the hills.

Good luck to ya buddy.

Sadly, I have to agree with this. I was waiting to see if the owner would post here.

Customer is always right. And losing money on a customer to make him happy is not always losing money. What if you accepted to send him a brand new rack on your dime as soon as you saw this thread pop?

Instead of the excuses and the attitude, you could have simply posted a notice telling him to wait for his new rack. When he gets it and it fits properly, he comes back on here telling us how you bent over backwards to make sure he was satisfied.

A quick post with an apology later we all jump on your product. Just because enthusiast forum dwellers usually are quick to jump on a cool new toy.

But instead this whole thing happened.

Well, there's a vendor that I will never purchase from. Shitty customer service = roasted on social media = business suffers. I suggest you chalk it up as a lesson learned before you become the next drabbits.

Huh??? Did not see that coming.

At least drabbits had the courtesy to not ***** about how the customer is always wrong. Sometimes silence is golden.

I think this just shows how much the OP put up with.

Made Good My Brackets

I was waiting to chime in until my replacement brackets came in and they did make it here and they did work for my 4runner Pro. It did take a little time to get since they needed to be manufactured again. All that said I think it a nice product and it worked out for me with no communication problems. I'm Happy with what I got and was treated great.

:wow2:

I am sorry for all the problems you have encountered with... well... everything that has already been mentioned. However, is it really a good idea to blast your customer base for having an issue with "a mistake"? Customers are jerks in all business. Everyone wants gold for dirt. However, I don't think the OP or most of the members on this thread were being unreasonable, and a degree of tact on your part could have made this a win-win situation.

That is not what happened.

Sometimes eating a little dirt will allow you to keep your head down when the bullets fly. However, the post above is like mooning an angry stampede of... well, your customer base.

I like your product. I hope that your production issues cease. I hope your health improves, and you can recover from... "a mistake"

Lol you would have been okay if you had just let Anne do the talking. Now you had to open your mouth and done f*cked up. She at least had some understanding of customer service. Looks like your ego just killed off a bunch of potential customers.

I kinda wanted those panels, now after the owner opened his mouth with his entitled attitude, yeah, I'll pass.

Confucius say; "Better to keep quite and have people think you have bad customer service than to post rant on forum and provide proof".

Was actually eyeing these. But after reading the responses here, i am very disgusted at how the company is run, and the attitude towards customers/potential customers.

Good luck to this company, you will need it. Worst customer service ever.

Well I hope someone else comes up with a different design concept, because I was looking forward to buying these and now its not an option.

I've been in customer facing industries my entire working life. 25 years of dealing with awful people who are way more wrong on a consistent basis than someone who just wanted the right parts they paid for.

Never once would I considering not replacing or refunding without complaint, let alone have the balls to go on the internet and try to shift blame.

It's really simple, people that do business like this don't deserve my money.

Again the thread is amusing, because people are still throwing crazy amounts of money at Gobi after the consistent shit they pull as well as their horrible ramblings they had on the forum by the owner and one of their employees who pretended to be an unbiased party sticking up for them. People turn a blind eye to what they want and justify their own actions.
