OrangeBoxx Fab: A Public Relations Nightmare

did we ever get the video proving those too-short brackets would work?

Sounded like the video was going to be used to back up they were right, and once they realized they were wrong they posted about a "retro fix for free." I'm interested if he ever got the refund, or if they're still putting him through the loops.

The video that was "supposed" to be provided by orangeboxx was to prove the bracket that was made and sent originally would work. The retro fit free bracket you are referring to is a new bracket to help secure the lower rear brace arm that orangeboxx is developing.

Lol you would have been okay if you had just let Anne do the talking. Now you had to open your mouth and done f*cked up. She at least had some understanding of customer service. Looks like your ego just killed off a bunch of potential customers.
Yep... I had OrangeBoxxfab back til I read that shit. I ripped their gear out of my 4runner and sold it. You bent over backwards for me when I had issues but that doesn't make it OK for you to jump in here and be a fuggin douchenozzle. I won't ever buy anything from them again and sure won't ever recommend them to anyone... and that is a free social media/business lesson for dat ass

Again the thread is amusing, because people are still throwing crazy amounts of money at Gobi after the consistent shit they pull as well as their horrible ramblings they had on the forum by the owner and one of their employees who pretended to be an unbiased party sticking up for them. People turn a blind eye to what they want and justify their own actions.

You make a great point, kinda the same way people turn a blind eye to cigarettes. It's proven they are terrible for you, shoot, there is even a huge warning on the boxes and people still consume them like they are going out of existence. I guess the cool factor always prevails over common sense

What's the Gobi situation? I've been considering one.

The devil is in the details with that company. Instead I would recommend looking into

Frontrunner

BajaRack
Baja Rack: racks_list

Prinsu
www.prinsudesignstudio.com

Equipt
Eezi-Awn K9 1.6 Meter Roof Rack System for Lexus GX470

N-Fab
Manufacturers of high quality Nerf Steps, Prerunners, Harley Bars, Light Bars, Replacement Front Bumpers, Rock Rails, Rear Runners, Tire Carriers & Truck Accessories

Hell even a group buy on another great option

The reality is Gobi has done some fantastic marketing, but there are several other options out there of better quality and customer service.

They sued smaller businesses on some patent nonsense. unlike orange though gobi seems to put out a good product so it balances more so than crappy product and crappy servixe

Also created profiles and pretended to be bystanders in favor of Gobi's stance and it ended up being the owners. Originally had rust issues, but I think they have fixed that.
But look at any of the group buys and you will see poor customer service of making excuses for delays powder coating/shipping company, then lying to customers saying shipped yesterday...call a week later just shipped today etc etc. 14 week wait time I believe and that is still way off target as people who ordered in December and january are still awaiting their racks. Like I said other options out there...at least for now. Last check Gobi was trying to take down BajaRacks as well.

definitely didn't know about that shifty fake profile nonsense, makes me want to fab my own racks but gobi would probably just try to sue me, i wonder if tom cruise is behind gobi. At least we know GObi isn't making much profit off of us at 1600 a pop, their lawyers are doing pretty well though.

*read thru thread, orders panel anyways* :couch2:

Ha right? There are several other people saying its been nothing but great. But as studies have shown you are 3x more likely to hear about a bad customer service experience as opposed to a positive one.

I looked at buying a drivers side version but so glad I read this. I was a little dubious of the fit when looking at their pictures and it seems like the inconsistency is confirmed.

Also, I agree with others who have posted that they don't want to hear about people's personal issues as an excuse to a business transaction. I can have empathy for someone, but it's not professional to use it as an excuse. Especially not in a public forum as ammunition to defend poor customer service.

Glad I didn't spend any money with this company.
