3M Eraser Wheels work really well for these projects too. They attach to a drill like wire wheel. It's just rubber so it's safe on the paint.

$25.00 project. Put in a Fire Extinguisher today. Installed it without drilling so it's reversible if I want it to be. I like it! Plus I can use the straps for other things if I want to. I have some cool stuff to install coming up soon too! Getting excited about all of it, its the waiting that sucks.

Took almost all day on this. What a pain!!!! ...But glad with the result. Never taken apart the console like that before either so a noob curve was expected. Pleased with the results! Though maybe Amber would have looked more "OEM". Nonetheless, I like it! Always wanted these on our other 4runner. Here's a mini saga of the days work.

Yes, a complete mirror replacement. Muth signal mirrors. The kind that are built into the glass.

Lessons learned. After a 3 month fight, my lovely 4runner goes in for a wiring replacement tomorrow. Basically, we bought the vehicle from the Toyota dealership and put too much faith in the Certified warranty that everything with the car was on the up and up. Not even close.
Bad rodent damage to all the wiring harnesses as you can see. We drove 1000 miles round trip to buy this thing back in January and I refused to go back there after they conceded it was their fault (was tough to get someone on the phone alone). They didn't just miss wiring on their inspection, but XREAS was leaking. That was a fix a few months back.
I was insisting they fix it at the local dealership I know and trust. We went back and forth on that for a long time. So they said how bout claim it on your insurance and well pay they deductible. Called up our insurance who then proceeded to file an insurance fraud claim against the dealership. We tell them that our insurance is building a very good case against them, and low and behold we get what we've wanted all along. Fixed on their dime at the dealership we trust. Sad and frustrating experience but with the outcome I hoped for. Never again. On the bright side, brand new guts!

I've used this 3M adhesive remover in the can to de-badge my vehicles:
All you have to do is soak a spot on a rag (be generous with it) and blot the left over adhesive with it. Let it sit for 1-2mins. and use a rag / shop towel and rub it off...you can even use your finger to rub it off but you definitely don't need to use any type of card to scrap it off like you do w/ goo-gone. Goo-gone is childs play compared to this stuff, and the 3M is completely safe on your paint.
So my emblens are gold and I just simpily want to plastidip them. What would adhesive would I use to put them back on?

Thanks! I picked em up at the dealership. They go on the Tundra here. The Tacoma also have a round option but I like this one better!
