Text Messaging on 2016 T4R Entune

First off my iPhone 7 works perfectly fine as a phone in the truck and as an audio source. But when it comes to text messaging for some reason the system asks me to connect almost every time I press the messages. Once in a while I get through to syncing the phone's messages, or at least it seems that way, and then when I open the messaging app it just says MAP MAS-i

Any thoughts anyone?

Go into the little I button in the Bluetooth menu where it says your phones name and make sure the "show notifications" is turned on

It is, I even disconnected it completely and reconnected and still the same issue...

make sure under notifications on your iphone under the messaging category that send notifications is selcted also under the BT directory where it lists Toyota 4Runner you have to select send notifications

Yep, this. Unpair everything and start over and don't put any contacts on the home screen.

Wife's Galaxy S7 worked the first time. No reconnects required. Works everytime she starts the vehicle. Worked on previous Android Marshmellow and current Android Nougat.
