Cherokee Trailhawk, Jetta GLI, and Mazda 3 made it higher on the list? Probably the blandest feeling vehicles on the market.

I guess "fun" is like "pretty"..... awfully subjective. And, I suppose it depends a lot on where you choose to have fun ... pretty diverse group of vehicles.

I have more fun driving the 4Runner off road than any other car, including a high end Land Rover. I notice the Land Rover didn't make the list.

They discuss what is "fun" for each car. It's the 4Runner's "badass" toughness that they liked.

Can't comment on the Trailhawk, but the Jetta and Mazda 3 are indeed "fun" cars given their small size and handling characteristics. Not everything has to be 10 cylinders and 1000+ hp to be fun. You can actually drive these two at their limits without visiting a track or The Ring.

Good help is so terribly hard to find these days and alas, the ride can be insufferable in the Bentley.

I had the most fun ever (besides my 4Runner) driving my friend's 1975 Corvette so i can see why it makes number 1. Actually it was his mom's and she let us take it for a spin. Nothing changes lanes like a 'Vette. But it's ground clearance is minimal so no offloading...
