LOL... Thai is Thai. Nothing anyone can do to change that. Just remember that any argument with him may result in an immediate and permanent ban. He should put that as a disclaimer for anyone joining the forum.

And God forbid anyone agrues with him about driving offroad. That will get you banned in less than two seconds! LOL

But why no exceptions? If I can determine the + and - of the original cap, I don't see why I can't just install one of the caps that I have in my garage. Do you think only a bipolar cap will work? Why?

If for no other reason it's the kind Toyota used in their design. Pin 16 eventually goes to the motor so maybe it has to do with reverse emf leading to an early ordinary cap failure. Really, it beats me but I would do it like they did because if the cap eventually pops the acid electrolyte will blow all over everything and destroy the pc board traces. Just eat em right off. I have actually seen this happen so I'm not making it up. Anyway good luck . Maybe you could stay on as Odd Eddie.:biggrin2: :bigok: Anyway don't give up the ship,. Wow, Thai must be on vacation (along with the rest of the mods) for Memorial Day. I've never seen him away from the forum for so long!

Anyway, it's nice to see that there are so many others who see the Nazi in Thai. If nothing else, maybe this will help Thai take a good, hard look at himself and the way he acts/reacts to adversity on the forum. Then again....maybe not

I'll still read the forums though, even if I can't post, just because it is such a great source of information. Two thoughts here:

1- Do you think Toyota uses a supplier for the wiper switch boards?

2-Do you think it is possible that they used a BP cap for ease of installation? In other words, they didn't have to worry which direction it was installed? Or maybe they got a good deal on BP caps? I'm just wondering if it is REALLY necessary to use a BP cap or if they used them for some other reason.

Either way, it's probably not worth the expense to find out if I end up damaging the board, but I'm still curious...

I read that whole thread about the 4runner in the sand, and I saw NO REASON for Thai to ban you. This reminds me of another time he banned someone, and I remember then that I thought it was for no good reason. He's on some kinda power trip, I guess.

Anyway, like I earlier stated, if you aren't allowed to continue posting as Even Steven, then I'm done here as well, and this will be the last thread I ever post in. I know noone will miss me, and I don't give a $hit anyway, it's just my way of showing protest, and also showing what I believe in.

It's just the principle of it to me.

1- almost certainly. 2-Those caps are always used in a special application, which is why you don't see them that often.

Thanks for the support. If nothing else, it will show Thai that he needs to tone it down a bit or risk losing good forum members. I don't know if he cares about that sort of thing, but he should.

This is just a thought but the word banned hasn't been used by the mods. I think it's more like you have been isolated (sort of like time out or standing in the corner) Perhaps the situation is not as hopeless as it seems.

No, trust me when I say that I was banned from posting on the site. Every time I tried to log on, I got a message that I was not allowed to post. I tried logging off and then back on every once in a while because I thought that Thai got angry with me and banned me for a few days or maybe a week. It has been months now and my Even Steven username is still disabled, so I have no choice but to believe that he banned me from the forum permanently.

If Thai doesn't want me posting here anymore, then that's fine. It's his forum so he has the right to ban whomever he doesn't want here. I just want everyone to see the Thai for the Nazi that he can be sometimes....

First off, Mr. Steven, i gave you a warning about posting BS on the forum via PM...several times actually. The first time or so was because of your constant argument with another member here (Josh). You guys can search for that...we warned both Josh and Even Steven.

I used "Last Warning" because i have personally warned him on previous occasions about his outbursts and constant arguments. BTW, i believe the moderators have warned him as well.

Now, as you guys can read in the thread, i have no problems with being wrong and even admitted it (see my post: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36155&perpage=15&pagenumber=4). Subsequently, i have joked with other members about that particular thread.

What Even Steven did was against forum rules. I gave him chances before i banned him. Of course, now, he acts like the ban came out of nowhere, but you can clearly see in the above PM that he knew it was coming if he did not calm down.

Let's answer a few questions in THIS thread:
- This forum is MY forum.
- Because it is MY forum, we have a set of rules.
- Do admins and mods have a "double standard"? Yes, we do. Do you really have to ask?? We have worked hard to keep this forum going...and except for Gatorgreg, NONE of us are NOT being paid to keep this forum running. So, please excuse us if the rules tend to favor us. (And as for Gatorgreg, trust me, the little pennies that come his way is...well, let's just say that he has a day job.)

As Koz can tell you, i have deleted his posts in the past when it gets insulting, but i have NEVER deleted ANY of his posts that has/had info in it. And Koz, as are some of my other "nemesis," is still around.

So, before a few of you get together and hold hands and lash out at me (very coozy BTW), consider the above points first.

I had a similar situation with thai, in which we were probably both right and both wrong, but he still deleted posts.
My suggestion is don't disagree with thai, or he might overcompensate and ban you/ delete your posts.

Thai does come across as a gestapo, and sometimes as a kid. I remember once when he banned someone (forget the name), and for really no good reason, other than a disagreement between a few folks. So let's solve the problem and ban him! How immature!

I'd like to hear a comment on all of this from a cool headed person who is not a part of this situation, specifically GatorGreg. I've always found GatorGreg to show maturity and equity in forum situations (going all the way back to his CRV forum).
