Hi,

Please pardon the newbie question, but putting it out there to see what you all know. Does anyone know a source for the TRD 3.4 Supercharger post 6/30/15? I reached out to Toyota Dallas and they said "Unfortunately all of the TRD superchargers have been discontinued and are no longer available."

If your asking if they still make the TRD S/C...the anwser is yes and no. No, they no long make the TRD S/C for the 3.4 L! However, a company just bought the right to the S/C from Toyota and they are now selling brand new S/C's. I went to their website the other day...price was $2,999. Everything included to do the install. The only difference is...there is no "TRD" on top of the S/C.

I have to run and get my son from school...if know one give you the company name by the time I get home...I'll look through my history and give you the link.

Our TRD S/C has always been made by Magnuson. Unsure when Toyota stopped placing orders...but it's been years ago. Anyway...LC Engineering has recently been able to make a deal with the powers to be. Which has allowed Magnuson to start making 3.4L S/C again and LC Engineering to start selling them.

The only difference is...no TRD letters on the top. Which we all know that means it will produce about 30% less horsepower. Those three little letters are worth a lot of power...lol!! Imagine what happens when you also add a TRD sticker on the back window!! Oooooh.....Aaaaah!!

I had a TRD Sticker on my back window the first week I owned my 4R... between it and the S/C I burned a set of tires bald in three days. I had to scrape that sticker off. I cannot afford to be replacing tires that fast.

The 7th kit will run closed loop for 99>= and older vehicles if you want to tune closed loop on 00+ you need a calibrator, thus the reason its part of the deal you got, and the 7th injector system if you want to run more boost.

OR

You can run the AEM at stock boost and AEM + big injectors or meth at more boost

YOU LUCKY DOG! I want a set of TRD headers bad, the only reason I don't have them is because they are a pain to install i guess lol.


EDIT: Just reread you don't need the calibrator since you have the 7th already, you just need to turn on the o2 skewing system and you can tune from there.

Are you saying that the URD AFR calibrator can tune in open and closed loop on 2000+ 4Runners?

just closed loop, which shouldn't matter because at stock boost our trucks run about 11.6-11.9 afr. If you are looking to do both the AEM would be best for you.

I know right? I still want to add fuel mods, piggy back system, small pulley, tuning. Probably will costs around $1500 or so total. I think if I dig through my couch I can probably find that much in spare change just sitting around right? Not like I have bills and financial obligations at all...

Yeah I broke mine off and it's a standard nipple, just find one with the right thread and nipple size and you're good to go.

What's entailed if I have a 7th URD injector kit that was originally installed on a California spec (two cats) 4Runner to install on my non Cali spec 4Runner? It comes with the adaptor harness. Just plug and play or do I need to rewrite anything?

I am looking to do some tuning on my timing map of the URD unit. Most of my current tuning has been adding some retard to the base map in the area of ping (1-4 psi, 2000-2500 RPM). I know the stock ECU controls the timing above 3K, so I was wondering if I could zero out the cells above 3K on the timing map to maybe gain back some power? Or at least decrease them some. (I guess there should be something in these cells if I want to properly smooth out the timing I have added in the 2500 RPM row. What do you guys suggest?

You should be fine with a plug and play. I know when I purchased mine they didn't ask anything about which emission system I had or what year vehicle I had for that matter. So I'm pretty sure they only sale one version. So unless the original owner did something to it...you'll be okay!

Hey guys...while I was double checking an anwser for [MENTION=110668]kigmob[/MENTION] on URD's website...I noticed URD is advertising New TRD supercharges!! He's selling them for $3500...but you can go to LCEperformance and get non-TRD S/C for $2999. So the big question has been answered...How much more is a TRD S/C worth over a non-TRD...according to URD...$500!!!!
