The 3.4L TRD Supercharger Thread

Jon bond is a joke. Look up stiegemeier they will be just as cheap as JB or cheaper and it will be done right....

There is a chance you got screwed, but I would have stiegemeier do their inspection first.

I'll look them up but shipping to US from Canada and back can get pretty pricey so I'll see if I can get it done locally. Its a pity I gotta return my rig back to stock now once I went through the pain of installing the thing...

My mechanic pinpointed the noise to the nose cone bearing. Can the bearing be replaced? Or do I have to order the whole new part?

Yeah you can rebuild it but I think it still sounds like the rotor pack bearing. That bearing cannot be replaced buy any normal shop.

Yeah those are right there too, but I would rebuild the snout first regardless it's only $60 to do it yourself

Are those M62 snout rebuild kits on ebay any good? I would like to replace the coupler as well. Any good sources to get all the parts?

As far as I know those kids are all nachi bearings which are the standard OEM parts. If it were me I'd have no problem by one of those kits

If you're not a fan of pressing bearings in yourself, you can buy a nose cone kit from Toyota for about $225. Steps to change out the nose cone are:

1. Remove old nose cone
2. Inspect rotors if you want to
3. Put on sealant
4. Place new nose cone on
5. Fill with oil

Tada! Can't beat the simplicity of it all.

Can someone please help I am stuck mid install.

I am installing the dynamic tensioner mount and the longer bolt supplied is a larger diameter than the stock bolt I'm taking out. Did anyone encounter that?

Yes. That goes in the different hole. Check the other one

You da man. Now I'm reinstalling the throttle body. The stock manifold has 2 bolts pressed in, so uninstalling the throttle body gave me 2 bolts and 2 nuts. The charger has 4 open holes to match up with the throttle body but only have the 2 bolts. Don't see anything left in the kit that would match. Any suggestion?

the screws are not pressed in. What you need to do is grab a vice grip and on the shaft that has NO threads, grip it and unscrew it out of the throttle body.

Get yourself a TRD "O" shaped throttle body gasket while you are at it. The stock "D" shaped gasket purposely blocks airflow.
