It's for my '99 -- this is super helpful. So basically the stock amp has a harness built in that runs to the factory stereo, outputs for the speakers, and the antennae? I'd definitely take you up on that -- will PM you.

Mine is a 2000 limited, so I'm not positive about what it may look like on others, but for the 2000 limited, there are two round single pin plugs that connect to the head unit for the two antennas. Then there is a single white multipin connector which plugs in to the back of the head unit, and it comes from the stock amp. The wiring running between the stock amp and the stock head unit is integral to the stock amp. I have attached a couple of pictures of what I have. They may not show exactly what you need to see, so let me know if you want to see any other angles.

First question: Does anyone have a part number for the wire harness that goes to the rear hatch? My wires are frayed and the defrost won't work. I'd rather get a new harness from the dealer than a used one but I can't find a part number.

Not available anymore. What I did to fix mine was to remove the entire harness from the truck and soldered all cracked areas with new wire from Home Depot (can also splice wire too if you want) and alls been good ever since. Use the correct gauge wire.

I don't actually remember disconnecting anything from that spot, but it's been a couple of years. Before I posted I looked at other pictures online and walk-throughs of replacing the stock head unit, and I couldn't find anything addressing if there was something plugged in there. Maybe someone else who has replaced there head unit more recently, or who still has the stock setup installed can answer that question.

If you use spacers to move stock wheels out for clearance and stance reasons and you don't want to buy a set of aftermarket wheels that will natively compensate for this, this is one area NOT to skimp. Buy a set of hub-centric Made in the USA spacers. Don't trust Chinese eBay junk. I only know of 2 US brands (Spidertrax and Bora) but there may be others. The spacer size most people use is 1.25". Bora does make wider spacers but you should probably get some aftermarket wheels with the correct backspacing and offset at that point.

Depends on your fender flares, and other factors. 1.25” spacers gave my 1.5” lifted front end with 265/75/16 tires some rub at lock and compression. I trimmed just an inch or so off the front bottom inside plastic lip of my oversized fender flares. Can’t see it unless you’re up in the wheel well.

Hey guys

I've got a question about the limited antenna. My ornament and chrome bolt are missing.

Can I buy those two pieces separately or do I need to buy the whole assembly? Of course mine has fallen down in the fender well.....I'm still getting good range with the radio and looking for the quickest fix.

That's the part number for the 4runner version (brackets that fit the fatlip bumper). There's a Tacoma version too but the mountain brackets are shorter.

I have a dent in my front right chrome bumper on my 01.I tried to hammer it out in various ways but it would not budge. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Alright, I’ve been running my SS 1.2 (classic system) for almost 95K miles, an have 5100’s in the front & rear. Getting curious about the Tokico’s p/n 48531-69417. Is now a good time to swap them out? Not wheeling my rig anymore these days, mainly daily driving and have the family in it more often. Lots of long distance driving as well. Is it worth the time/investment/effort? Will I notice any difference In overall ride quality? Opinions, please, especially those with the SS 1.2! Thanks in advance

99 runner blinker issue

Just bought a 99 4Runner and all the lights worked perfectly. I pulled out and returned a couple fuses to check for a burned one due to the radio not working. Couple days later my left turn signal activates solid when the brake is pressed and the lights blink when the left blinker is activated. They are tied together in a sense. Any ideas?

First thought is the wiring bundle that goes into the hatch is a known weak spot. Check there for broken/damaged wires.
