Hello fellow adventurers and T4R Enthusiasts,

Tomorrow we are departing on a 4,000 mile on/off-road overland adventure called West X N.West. The purpose of this trip is to get comfortable with our new vehicle and to get the hang of working from the road. We will be doing product reviews, product demos, and photography along the way at key locations. In addition we will be filming the trip heavily.

Here is our approximate route and ports of call:

We will also be using the content generated by this trip to complete our website at www.TaylorExpeditions.com.

We will be updating here as much as we can, and a trip report will be posted on ExPo as well upon completion. Because of spotty WIFI we will probably be using Facebook quite a lot to update as well. You can visit our Facebook page here. Please like us on Facebook to get all the pictures and updates from the dusty trail!

Even though we purchased this vehicle with shorter sub-1k mile overland trips in mind, we will feel a longer trip on a wide variety of terrain and weather will give us the best idea of what to expect from this vehicle and how to better outfit it for our exact needs in the future. As it is, it is equipped with just bare bones.

Thanks for checking us out, and I hope you come back to keep updated!

Happy Trails,

Sounds like it will be a fun trip. I look forward to seeing pictures from the road. Hopefully you can post them here because not everyone does the FB thing.

Enjoy your expedition! How many people are coming with you?

Just my co-driver/ navigator (wife) and our Australian Shepherd, Jackson. I know some people look down on traveling with dogs, but it opens up a whole new industry for us as far as sponsors and products to review.

We will be joined by my parents in one of their Land Cruisers and possibly a few others at the Colorado river to take the Mojave Road portion of the trip. Our family owns a lot of land inside the Mojave Preserve itself, so we will be camping at one of the camps there together. But, most of the time it will be just us.

Sounds like a great trip, you will be passing through my neck of the woods at some point so I will keep my eyes open for you. Good luck and have a safe trip.

have fun in vancouver.

garabaldi is a beautiful area as i've hiked the place many times.

i suggest picking up some bear spray/mace at an outdoors store in vancouver before you head up that way.

you can find bear spray at MEC (mountain equipment co-op) and make sure you pick up the large one :)

If you decide to come to Las Vegas ( kinda close to part of your route ) send me a pm and I'll get you a room and dinner comped at the MGM Grande. Sounds like a once in a lifetime trip..be safe and have fun!!

Yeah sounds like a really sweet trip. Nothing wrong with traveling with dogs...they are part of our family. The pooch will probably complain less that the wife...LOL!

Good luck and keep us posted.

Looking forward to hearing your input about the 4runner on a trip like this. And what language is you website in.

haha It is called "lorem ipsum". It is place holder text. It is computer generated to mimic written text for spacing and placement. The website will be finished when we get back and filled with all of our content from this trip. Stay tuned. It is going to be awesome.

Finally got some interwebs back. Today was a rough one. A lot of miles, and making up for some lost time in the morning.

Yesterday was fantastic. The weather on the Carrizo Plain was great and there was hardly anyone there. Basically the only time we saw anyone was when we went into camp. We explored a lot and took the fire road up over the mountain into Taft for some things we forgot. Like...our pillows...haha anyway here are some pics:
