GM Audacity

Hmmm. Looks like GM is already counting on their share of the bailout money and has appropriated $1 billion for Brazil. I am sure the unions will love this move.

As we know, many of GM's manufacturing facilities are outside of the US (including ones still being built, at least when I was still working in a supplier capacity with them 2 1/2 years ago!).


Perhaps GM should approach some of these foreign countries with their tin cups as well.

The economy got so bad because some president in the 90's thought everyone could have 100% mortgages which no one could afford. News Flash not everyone should be able to afford a house. This over inflated prices causing everything to go up and this same president gets praised for making the economy so good cause their stocks are rising.

Well next president comes along and the bubble happens to break while in office. On top of this, investors are investing huge amounts of money in corn and oil causing oil and food prices to sky rocket over night. People can no longer afford their houses, can't eat, and can't drive their 4runners. Since no one can pay for these things, businesses start plummeting and causing a chain reaction throughout the economy.

While this is going on, the big three throw innovation under the rug and keep making cars that nobody wants. Ex.

Toyota also makes fuel efficient cars and spreads their wings out to a broad range of customers. The big three jump on the bandwagon but its way to late and uh oh no one wants your cars anymore. Maybe some of those big three should have been thinking for the people and not their wallets. Its amazing what a little greed will get you. And this is why the economy is in shambles but at least all the stocks are on sale.

Resurrecting this thread given the news today. Knowing that millions could be left out in the cold workers like us I vote to bail em out. Change vote. Not the best but certainly not the worst.
