The Build!

So after having my runner for a few months i have decided i want more power, lots more power (50+). I was leaning towards a 3.4l swap until i realized how much of a pain in the ass its going to be. So now i have my heart set on a 3vze(fe). I found some posts on a few people attempting to do this but i havent heard of any sucess stories. Hopefully with the resources i have i can make it happen over the next 5-6 weeks. next saturday im going to get some es 300 heads and 5vzfe cams, im hoping to source some 1mm oversized valves. If all goes well with the top end ill have them ready with in two weeks. then im going to get a 3vze block and throw some eagle rods and 3vzfe hyperetectic pistons. the lower end parts are a lot more $$$ so i might need 3 weeks after the heads for this to be completed. then ill need a gasket kit for a fe and oil and water pump, timing componets from a 3zve. last but not least the upper and lower intake from a 5vzfe. with the said up grades hopefully ill be around 200 hp. then ill save for a trd supercharger.

I do want to get rid of the motor that is in the truck once im done with the new one. I didnt want to part it out but sell it whole. but no one has replied on the selling post i have made. so shoot me an offer and we can work something out.

i also have a 90 v6 3.0 and im in the process of rebuilding the heads just waiting for the heads to come back from the shop then the real fun begins :d

how many miles are on the heads since the rebuild and did you have them completly rebuilt ( shaved, new valve seals, etc)

i have a 3vze with extensive work done bored .30 over, balanced and blue printed bottom end, larger intake and exhaust valves, bored and polished from throttle body to valves lc enginering intake lots of money in it and i can break the tires in rear no problem i don't know the hp number of motor but i have fun playing with 3.4's and i am currently running 265/70/17's good luck with your project mine came out alright hope yours does too

I dont know exact miles. but its less then 2k as of right noiw. I had them completly rebuilt. milled, new stem seals, replaced out or order valves, cut new seats, trimmed valves, new springs and retainers.

Yeah, this guys plan sounds like way less work then a 3.4 swap.... Wonder how it turned out, thats some serous 3.0 love.

"I want more power out of my 4runner, the 3.0 isn't cutting it. I was wondering if anyone has swapped a VR38DETT out a GTR into a 4runner? How much work was it and how much did it cost? Can I use the same wiring harness as a 3.0?" :pound:
