The Chinese Special TRD Grille... on the cheap!

I got mine from ProoAuto, took about 5-8 days, not bad from China. The tracking numbers are garbage tho once it gets picked up by the China State postal service.

It took me about 3 times to get it one right, had to go buy some more 3m molding tape but once i got it on it looks pretty good, does have small gap on ends but doesn't really bother me. it was 130 shipped.

i have only got $75.00 refund so far and still nothing stay away from these guys .:director: i ordered on Dec 13th
i don't understand what is going on some people get theirs in 7 to 10 day and some of us a month in and nothing i guess i will start emailing them every day

Ordered on December 28th. Received January 7th. Installed yesterday. The guy from cartrimhome was really great about emailing me with updates. Pretty happy with the whole experience.

Still no movement on the package shipped 12/16 or the one shipped on 1/5 from the group buy. However, there is something new on the 12/16 tracking that had not appeared before (but for some reason the timestamp on this new entry is also listed as back on 12/16):

Inbound Into Customs -> Your item is being processed by United States Customs.

The USPS web site now shows the status as "In-Transit" instead of "Pre-Shipment" for the first package.

I received the following message from the seller today:

Hello, my friend. Much thanks for your patience and deeply sorry for the late delivery. We checked your parcel status and there still no movement till now. We have guaranteed the refund that if item still not turn up on 15th Jan. We would like to do this if you wish. But we would be much appreciate that if you could give us more trust and keep waiting, after all we have sent 2 sets of this... and we will also send you a set of free grill lights for compensation. Waiting for your reply.

I haven't written them since they shipped the second grille and have never asked for refund so I'm not sure if they have me confused with one of the other buyers. Not sure how to play this.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for now since they took the effort to do that. And since some have received theirs from them.

Got the same message. Still waiting on the "free" TRD Pro emblem from the first shipment that I'm still waiting. Got the second shipment supposedly sent out with a free set of grill lights....LOL

WOW... The first grille shipped on December 16 made its way out of US customs today in Los Angeles and the USPS web site claims an expected delivery date of tomorrow!

There is hope yet.

That’s just a hairdryer. It’s cold here so I just used it to make sure the tape stuck.

Here's my Limited to TRD Pro conversion buying from a Chinese eBayer during the 15% off so I paid ~$137ish. It came to my house in maybe 2 or 3 days.

I ended up drilling a hole on the top and bottom of the center piece (zip tied the top and nut/bolt on the bottom side. The double sided tape it came with was trash and I wasn't even sure if it was touching the OEM parts underneath. I did the zip tie close to the edge on top so when the upper grill was on, you can't see any of it. The bottom I used a small nut/bolt and tried to center it so it looks clean to me. Gaps on both sides will definitely catch a lot of dirt so I'll have to see how it holds up over time. Overall I say 10/10.

I am installing on a Limited too. Does the TRD Pro black garnish piece go directly over the OEM piece with the raised chrome (your's blacked out) piece or does that chrome part need to come out first? Seems it would not sit flush otherwise?

I purchased from cheaper vendor and the letters did not have adequate tape and were a shade brighter silver.

Fitment was good though. Saved $20 vs other sellers.

There were no non-OEM options for a long time, then all the sudden they are popping up all over the place. I have to believe it's a single manufacturer who is providing them wholesale to different vendors. It doesn't seem likely multiple places would start making them at the same time. I say order the cheapest, and if the quality sucks send it back and try again.

So i was one of the first to get in on the GB...so after 33 days, it arrived along with the TRD emblems. Everything looks good to go! I will post pics after installation, it’s raining now so not until later.
