Size- 285/70/17 -D Load range
Miles- Unkown, bought used with like 50-60% tread and have lasted like 9k miles since then.
Mine are at like 40-50% and are quite noisy. I had some Definity dakota Mud tires before this and they are about the same in noise level. But even at that tread depth, the duratracs still did amazing in the snow packed conditions of the ski town I lived in this winter.
I do have one tire that has been slowly leaking air. takes about 3 days to go from 40 psi to 10. Still need to get that fixed.
Next tire will be exact same thing, but brand new this time.

Noise as they age may be considered a con, but any aggressive tire will have this problem. I've only got a couple thousand miles on mine, but do understand noise comes with age on a tire like this.
Only real con (besides price) is a weak sidewall. They only have a 2 ply sidewall, some prefer a thicker sidewall, especially if you're around a lot of sharp rocks. I've read a lot of handling complaints from people with larger/heavier vehicles, but those issues don't seem to affect the 4runer owners.

i just hit 20k miles on my 265/70-17 E-load Duratracs. had 'em since new; rotated regularly. they've definitely gotten noisier in the last couple thousand miles. not overly so, but more pronounced for sure. they're starting to sound like an MT would be the best way to put it.
it's not a deal-breaking knock against them, however. they've been great for me. i may or may not get them again, but if i don't it'll be because i wanted to try something else/new—not that i didn't like them.

Mine aren't noisy at all, or at least I can't hear them over regular road noise/radio.

I've got about two and a half years and 18k miles on mine and they are a tad noisier but no more than any other A/T tire I've driven on but it doesn't drown out conversation in the cab and the wear so far seems on par with other A/Ts I've owned. I'm sure they are a bit heavier than my previous set of TerraGrapplers but it hasn't bene reflected in MPGs or handling.
So actually outside the price increase I've seen over the last two years I haven't found any cons with my experience with the Duratracs.

That sidewall would make it a concern for me, given that BFG T/A's have run 3-plies for ages, and have proven the wisdom of this choice against many hazardous obstacles. I don't know why Goodyear and others still insist on only two plies on their serious-duty tires.

thanks for the message... i dont know why that is either.... interesting though GY has been around for ages and so had BFG... i dont know... i think it is a concern though..
I wont be doing any rock climbing or anything but i will tell you that common road hazzards can be just as dangerous.
maybe thats why they offer their road hazzard protection plan. at a modest fee!

cons-
they really seem to be wearing much faster than i expected. less than 20K on the tires and i am not anticipating them lasting thru the winter for me. Thats only 2 years on a set of low use tires.
noise (though it doesnt bother me) is increasing with wear.

this kinda sucks hearing they wear so fast. I just got mine on about 500-600 miles ago. So far love em. Heavy though, and you do hear them but its expected with a tire like this. Still look back when walking to house and smile at them. Very nice looking tire.

I got about 30k on my set and still expecting about another 20k on them.

This is very disturbing... I like this tire very much( also like the cepek and the Mickey T's too). I hope they dont wear as fast as every body says but everyone cant be wrong.
I guess MY only savings grace is that my runner does not get used as much as some of the trucks on here.. because of work my record is the runner not moving for a bout a month.. sure i started it up to make sure it ran and checked the fluids.. Nothing against any of you but i hope my duratrac last a long ass time.
