Ok was going to work this morning its been icy and snowing since yesterday around noon. Got my runner in 4x4 and driving at 40mph I hit a patch of slush and it pulls it sideways I gas it to get it back straight it does but this beeping starts and wouldn't stop had to listen to for the next 20 mins until I got to work. WTF. Snow and ice/slush 4 to 6 inches deep. Somebody tell me whats going on.

Thanks Steve

That's VSC enabling. Applies the brakes to the wheels that are slipping to help straighten you out. It sensed that you were getting sideways. Are you saying it was constantly beeping for that 20 minutes or did it just keep happening while out on the road?

I thought that's what it was but yes even after slowing down to 30 mph it still kept beeping, it never shut off until I got to work and parked. Im on duty until tomorrow morning so I cant go out and check it to see if its still doing it. Just thought I'd get some advice from the experts.

Your tires were losing traction...if the VSC was not active, then it could have been your traction control.

Well if I overuse my VSC (with the diff locked) it emits a warning buzzer that's just a constant high pitched tone. That's the computer telling the driver that the system is being overworked

Im not sure what was up. Would it still be going off even while Im slowing down? ie off the gas coasting. All was fine this morning no beeping so I guess all is good again. LOL

ya thats wierd, whenever i went out to play id get the beeping, then it would beep longer than just go into a long tone beep and the whole moter would just shut off.

Sorry for diggin up an old post, but if the beeping is due to VSC why does my '01 beep at me when the center diff is locked? I was going up a pretty rocky hill with some deep ruts today. At one point I think I lost traction on one wheel in both the front and the back (awkward angle.) The car slowly creeped and bumped up the hill but began beeping at me. The VSC was off... so what was it?
