Not much to update lately... a great weekend of wheeling a few weeks ago (need to get pics gathered up from friends). Followed that up with an awesome weekend of backpacking.

Work and family obligations keeping me busy during the week, so not much time for any mods.

I actually won a raffle for some sliders from SOS Offroad Concepts. He is custom building them to my specs (he normally only builds for 4th Gen and up T4Rs and Tacomas) I'll definitely post pics of those when they arrive.

I did an air flow meter conversion from a 7MGE (Supra)... the air inlet is much larger giving this 3.0 some extra air to breath.
BIG difference!! I saw a big gain in off idle throttle response and a definite power increase. Paired with a decent exhaust (future plans) should be a great match; these will likely be my only performance mods.

I went nice with 3" silicone couplers and aluminum tubing from siliconeintakes.com
Still have some tuning tweaking to do but so far extremely satisfied with this mod!

Also made some room down there to relocate my winch solenoid, probably the next mod.

will you do me a favor and shoot me a quick pm with a short step by step, the YT link is OK but just want to make sure I have everything clear. also, where did you run the hoses that were left hanging from the front of the engine and out of the valve cover? thanks.

Getting my sliders built

I won a set from SOS Off-road Concepts at a Tacoma meet and had him build them for the T4R. Since he had never done a set for 2nd Gens I just gave him the overall length and left the legs loose.
Will post some more pics when I get them all done.

I am presently building a 1993 that I just bought. I have a long way to go on it yet. I am painting it flat black soon.

I have a huge electrical mess with my new toy. Should be fun to try and figure out. NOT!!

If you haven't downloaded the Factory Service Manuals (FSM) yet, I highly encourage it. Much better than any Chilton or Haynes books you'll find... And I found them for FREE.

Most of my group usually goes south down to Uwharrie. I went up to BigDogs Off Road (Gore Va) in Oct. It was pretty cool but only open for "events". Occasionally we go goof off at Shoe Creek, it's not much more than a dirt road but a few little spots to test new stuff, if you've done a lot of work recently. I'll shoot you a PM next time we go outfit you want to join us.

I've turned down offers to build another bumper... I'll help anyone but I'm not interested in doing it as a side biz.
That said... I'm building a rear bumper and skids this winter. Learned a lot last time these should go much faster.

Slider angle looks good to me! How much room between the top of the slider and the door when its open?

Got about 1.25" with door open and no load on the slider... could be close if I'm sitting on a rock. Legs aren't very long so I'm praying for minimal flex.

I bet youll see about 1/8" of flex, if any. Looks stout, and you plated where the legs hit the frame, which is key.

loove this build! very very nice rig! wanting to know more about the mass air meter swap.. so the mass air meter has dial knobs on it for tuning adjustments?
