Hey all! This is my first venture into posting about my rig. I find that this community has done so much to help me understand the plethora of upgrades both in a functional and aesthetic sense (mostly both)! I'm humbled by the great contributors such as [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] and [MENTION=124732]LawnDart[/MENTION] and am so stoked to finally reveal my rig. I've been upgrading it for a while and as finances permit, but have been afraid of the reception as I don't want to come off as a braggart or as a "LOOK AT MEEEEE" kind of poster.
I'm looking to accomplish exactly what this forum has done for me and give another perspective of what's possible from my configuration standpoint. This is my attempt to join the many of you who put your experiences out there to those who are just starting. I appreciate this group of like minded folks and look forward to growing my rig into what's just right for my usage.
Since I have missed a lot in terms of journaling my build from the start I'll have to just promise I'll get better at documenting future updates! Just yesterday I did a dual battery install on The Highwind (assuming successfully, as there's no cabin fires yet...) And will be posting pictures and how I got to the end state. It was in no small part due to Off Grid Engineering and Matt's commitment to making sure his customers get exactly what they need, even if it requires reach back support like a tier 1 help desk!
My build is coming from the overlanding perspective. I'm trying to get the foundational elements in place with safety being priority 1 and the ability to get in and out of locations solo. My Runner is a 2014 Silver SR5 w/third row seats and so far 'The Highwind' has:
- Baja Design Amber Wide Combo Lights (fog swap)
- Matte Black hood and grille vinyl done by CNC Grafix
- Icon Stage II lift with tubular UCA's
- BFG KO2 285//75//R17
- LED Interior Swap
- Rexing V1 Dash cam
- Off-Grid Engineering Dual Battery Set-Up w/smart solenoid and switch
- Raingler Rear Cargo Net
- Canvasback Cargo Liner
- Mud Flap Deletion
- ARB Diff Breather mod
- Xenon Depot HID conversion kit
Awaiting install:
- C4 lo pro bumper
- Smittybilt X20 winch
- Factor 55 Flatlink
- Gobi Stealth Roof Rack with high rise delete
I'll post the dual battery install sometime this week when I get the free moment. Again, to all the members, trolls and gurus.. nice to finally be on the map!
