Just put my LFD wind fairing/deflector on and at 60 mph it vibrates like someone left a dremmel running on the roof. Any one have any advice? Noticed some noise before the deflector with just the LFD across bars but that was normal wind noise, this is definitely not normal wind noise. I’ve got the deflector pushed all the way back and it’s as tight as I’m comfortable cranking it down without running the risk of stripping any of the supplied hardware.

Do you have any pics of where you have your cross bars situated? I'm having issues with mine and the wind fairing. I hit 50 and it starts vibrating like crazy. I've moved the first cross bar back to where Toyota recommends on the rail, but it's still happening.
I've got four cross bars spaced evenly from the very front (ahead of where toyota says) to the very back. I've got the fairing tightened at the lengthiest setting (as in most forward). I'll take a pic in a few hours and try to figure out how to upload.
As I've said before, nearly completely silent now. No vibrations at any speed that I've driven it since installing, which may or may not exceed rural freeway speeds.

Speaking for anyone interested I have the LFD KDSS Front Skid and it is beastly. Fantastic build quality and the protected area is far greater than the RCI skid I had previously. Good stuff being made over there.

Anyone running a full length rack with moonroof? Can the front most crossbars be moved so the moonroof is still clear? Any pics of the rack from the top empty? Thank you

Thanks! No need to snap a pic anymore...it appears I got one of the first aluminum versions. EDIT* Jacob *EDIT (I'm horrible with names) from LFD has been awesome to work with and is going to send me a modified version of the aluminum fairing to see if it eliminates the vibrations.

Two of our guys run the full racks that way with their sunroofs.
Just want I needed to make my decision. The aluminum version is 3-4 weeks I think you mentioned earlier in the thread? Do you happen to know if the Maxtrax mounts will also work for Treds? Also, do you make an awning mount?

Yeah, we're averaging about four weeks lead time at the moment.
I don't think the Maxtrax mounting pins work with the Treds, the guy running Treds just used some long bolts instead.
We do have an awning mount drawn, but have not yet needed to make one. Every awning we've encountered so far has come with its own mounts.

Thanks ya. There are two mounting holes on either side to secure it to a rack. I can just assume it’ll work on this rack. All you need is the correct spacing and the tracks are adjustable.
For what it's worth, I used the LFD Accessory plates (two of them), along with some long bolts/nuts/washers/etc to mount my X-Bull boards. The multitude of holes have a set that line up with the perfect width
My setup has 3/8-16x6" (these need to be replaced by 8" ones, but no where locally actually had them in stock) bolts, two per accessory plate, which are secured via washers on either side and a lockwasher/nut on the top side. The bolts then run through the existing mounting holes on the X-Bull boards. With the 6" bolts, they are long enough to run through 4 boards but not long enough to add wing nuts on top. Once I switch to the 8" bolts, I'll add two pairs of wing nuts, similar to LFD's hi-lift mount. For our last trip I just used two ratchet straps with the strap fed through the hand-holes on the boards and around the underside of the plates (and the bolts to hold them in place laterally/longitudinally).
This is the only photo I have of it that even slightly shows off how they are mounted... I can say it works wonders... Although, the day after using them to get out of some cement-like mud, we encountered rain... I was wondering why someone was pouring coffee down the windshield, alas it was just the mud running off the boards
