Honestly, keeping the hi-lift inside is great for a number of reasons - mostly it doesn't get the wear and tear from being in the elements. Also, you can control the noise from all the movable parts if it is on the inside.
...All that being said, we have ours mounted to the outside via the LFD HiLift mounts on the side rail of our LFD full length roof rack - because we can.

Yeah, that would help the 5th gens, but then we'd need separate ones for 4th gens and GXs. We're trying to keep the SKUs down by having just one.
I can understand that desire, but consider the customers perspective. One size doesn't fit all, and things that don't fit right often don't work or look right, and that is a poor reflection on your otherwise great product.

Yes i agree about putting it inside but there would be storage issue. Yours must be full rack which the sides are flat. Mine is 7/8 that is not flat. I have the brackets as well. I dont think they would fit when my RTT is put on. Can you take close up pics please?

Ours did not fit like this with the 7/8ths rack. When we had the 7/8ths, we mounted the hilift on top.

Awning mounts
I rolled the dice and purchased a $100 dollar awning off Ebay. What hardware are you using to mount awnings on the 7/8 rack, I went with the 7'6" I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's solution. I want something beefier than what was provided with security locks or cables in mind as well Show me your mad ingenuity skills.
pardon me if this has been discussed on the thread prior to my posting. I've seen various mounts like 3d printed options for stock rails and simple L brackets, show me your racks rack heads

You may want to start your own thread and ask that. Granted, it will still be on your LFD Roof Rack, but the awning brackets can vary all over the place. That is why I worked with LFD to create a bracket extension for the crossbars (stand alone) on the OEM rails.
I am just using the L-Brackets that came with my awning. Honestly, I have bolts that are too long, and the bracket goes under my tent. If someone wants to steal it - good luck!!! You have to take the tent off first OR spend 45 minutes unbolting it directly.

Update time; its been a crazy month.
We've been working on re-vamping our shipping (mainly processes) and trying to eat away at the order backlog.
We've got the current backlog down to about three weeks now, and are trying to keep it in that two to three week range moving forward, especially for standard crossbars and racks.
For anyone who has our bolt on wind farings and has experienced vibration issues, we think we have nailed down the design revision now to eliminate that vibration. Please reach out to us on our website's help ticket system and we'll get a new faring sent out on us.
We do have a major trade show coming up in the end of June for our parent company that is taking up a lot of time and resources at the moment with prototype machine construction. That show will also result in most of us involved with LFD being out of the office at the show basically the entire second half of June, from setup, the show itself, to teardown. We'll have people here still to ship out standard orders, but there will probably be a delay in message response and more complicated orders during that time.

No, our first two tries didn't work, and with the pressure from the trade show from the other division we haven't had time to revisit it again. After we get back from the show its pretty high up on the to-do list

What’s lead time on steel full rack? Anyone else running the full want to chime in on thoughts going full over 7/8?
Mine is pretty awesome? No regrets. Got my crossbar spacing just right for Yakima accessories, standing in the sunroof, MaxTrax, and my FrontRunner RTT quick-releases.

Nice...and confirm you have the integrated wind fairing on the front? How’s the noise, vibes etc?
I live in Texas and do a lot of huge road trips. Wind noise with every rack on every vehicle I've ever had is a little bit loud when I cross the Tx border. Almost a non-issue in every other state. Love everything about it though. So sturdy.

I had the 7/8ths and loved it...
...now I have the full length. I love it more. More room for all the things. :thumb:

The quick releases are on my want list. I just don't know if I can affort to go any higher on my RTT - garage at work already has people screaming at me to stop when I come in. :rofl:

You can mount the Frontrunner QD RTT mounts below the crossbars instead of on top, and it only adds about 1/2" to the tent's height.
