Nice!

Which brackets/mounting plates for the Hi-Lift and traction boards?

The traction board mount (Xbulls) is a DIY with 6inch 3/8 threaded rods, wing nuts, clamping nuts, and washers. All can be found at Lowes. The Hilift mount is a Leitner Designs mount I got from a friend for free. It was designed to have the hilift mounted perpendicular. If I were to start over, I'd probably go with the LFD mount.

Hope that helps! If you need me to go in details about the diy board mount I can write that up

That works, thank you Sir.

On a slightly different note, I bought a 2012 Salsa Red Trail a couple weeks back.

Planning on making this "new" Trail my primary vehicle and moving my wife into my '16 Trail because she needs a bigger vehicle than her current car. I've always loved the early Trails' looks the best out of all the 5th Gens, so figured it was a perfect time to find one.

This does mean we will be working on hybrid front bumpers for the early 5th gens this fall :D

PS anyone want to buy a used Gobi rack? That thing's coming off soon as I get it over to the office haha.

Very interested in what y'all come up with for an early 5th hybrid. Considering a full bumper simply because I haven't seen a hybrid version of the early 5th that I couldn't live without. I've always hoped for something that took out the full center of the bumper cover rather than cutting half of it, but that may not even be possible on these. Way over my head.

Basically that's exactly what we're looking at. Replacing all of the black areas on the painted bumper with metal. ;)

Busy packing for Appalachian Toyota Roundup today! Come by and say hi if you're going to be attending. We'll have both of the early 5th Gens there with a booth.

Also we're doing free shipping on crossbars and roof racks this weekend for Labor day, code is LaborDay2019. We also just added a code for everything else not roof rack related, LaborDay10, that is 10% off. Both are good through Tuesday :)

Great to hear. Likely going to hold off on the full until I see this. I have an SR5, but would totally buy a trail bumper if needed in order to fit something like that.

Should work with the SR5 as well I think, but we'll have to dive into it first.

Our next big project in the immediate future is sliders (finally!). Our CNC tube plasma cutter arrived last Friday and we're in the middle of getting it set up. Starting the engineering on them Tuesday morning.

We've made a few basic sets in the past (like these bolt on ones for OEX's Hilux) but basically until now they were all made 100% by hand and way too labor intensive for mass production. Now with the new machine they should be repeatable and simpler for production :D

Blah, blah, blah...SLIDERS!...blah, blah...

This completely answers my questions on how many crossbars I need to order. SCORE!!

I was originally going to order 5 but figured I can do with 4. Was originally concerned about getting the rotopax mounting plates and traction boards to fit right. But it worked out in the end. If you want to check out the cross bars, I'm not too far away from the OC area. Parents live by the 22 405 intersection.

Sounds good, I need those too. Looking for some that sit fairly close. Removed the SR5 rockers on my '11, so trying to avoid a huge gap. Though I will likely eventually just need to get the trail trim or some other solution.

Trail trim or just cut the rocker plastic down, thats what we did to our older SR5.

Yep. that is the LFD Hidden Winch Mount.

We put that on a little over a week ago. I have pics and a YouTube video coming of the install. I just need a couple spare hours to edit it and post it up.
Um, not that anyone is getting anxious or anything but....I'm long overdue for feeling bad about seeing a video of something that I want but someone ELSE already has.

(coming from a place of respect..)

So, my impression of LFD is this...

I've had my 5th Gen 4Runner for just over 2 years. Join a forum..OOO, look at those big ass-tires...and there it starts.

Any accessory you look for and the 5th Gen is a standalone category. Open up the checkbook and go nuts.

To cut to the chase, I love how LFD takes their time...they use the stuff!

Bummer. I was 2 weeks too early in placing my order. Still looking forward to receiving the rack.

Is it sad that I don't have an immediate need for it? (pleasesayno)
