The Most AMAZING 4X4 Trip Ever!!! PIC AND VIDEO HEAVY

No offense Thai, but im not a big fan of the way the G500 looks. Or for the "box on wheels" look in general. Like the Element, or that Scion thing, and even wranglers.

Even if i dont like the way it looks, I can still respect the knowledge and clear passion you have toward your vehicle. I think the time you spend on this site posting and sharing your knowledge is much appreciated. (Well i at least appreciate it :D )

I honestly didn't know the G500 was that well engineered. I guess in that case you pretty much get what you pay for. I'm sure a few other cars that are ranked higher in ya'lls list are over rated as far as price vs output.

I would say that the majority of G500 owners don't know what they truely have in their vehicle.

This is true in my eyes. A good friend of mine, who is a girl, drives a G55. She couldn't tell the difference between a locking center differential and a hole in the wall, haha but I will respect the fact that she picked the G55 over the normal G500 because I told her that the G55 was quicker

Seriously, who can afford to do the kind of offroading this thing sounds like it was designed to do. Thai...is yours a trail machine or a street machine...honestly?

How many of you have seen one of these on the trails...an $89K vehicle. Not me.

This thread sure has taken a trip around the world hasn't it!

I think its both, daily driver and trail rig. Ive some of his videos, and hes NOT affraid to wheel the thing, and it does freakin sweet, :bigok:
I sure would not, spend that much cash on a 4x4 and NOT wheel it, many props to him :bigok: that would be like buying a Audi R8, Porsche 911 or BMW M6 etc., and ONLY driving the speed limit :D

In what may be a futile attempt to get this post back on track I dont remember seeing a Mercedes in the line up of the rigs that were out there that lead to this posting. Everyone has their own opinions of the best vehicle when it comes to offroad capabilities. These are the opinions that make us all different and allow us to have discussions. It only makes sense to compare vehicles in the same class. But thats just my OPINION

Yeah, my wife, parents, and some friends do not like the look of it...but, at least, i can say that it is one of the original tissue box on wheels! :)

Well, like what ric said above, my intention when i bought it new in 2004 was to use it to it's potential. So, i made a few modifications to make it more trail worthy, such as getting 16" rims (instead of 18" factory rims) and getting rock sliders. I wanted something that i can use on the trails, but obviously, i was not going to cross the Rubicon trail with it. Thus, i am not planning to lift it nor put on 35" tires. It must also be decent on-road for daily driving.

I used to take it off-road a lot before my son (and soon, my daughter) was born. However, since then, it is mainly in my garage collecting dust. As my signature says, my daily driver is my Sienna. I drive the G500 2-3 times a week just to get the oil moving around.

The G-wagen has the opposite problem to a Wrangler. The original parts are built to last, but the aftermarket and the parts replacement costs just plain suck! It is prohibitively expensive to off-road with it. But, i can proudly say that for the first 55,000 miles, i took my G off-road and tested it well...i can always say that even if i never take it off-road again. :)

Well, getting back on topic for the 100th time....

This is one of the coolest G...must have for the local Walmart parking lot:

Hooley cow! what is that thing!

I imagined the recoil effect of those guns is more than enough to tear the hood of an ordinary vehicle or probably fold a suzuki into 6 !
so while we are modding our runners with bullbars, skid plates , lifts..they aer also busy adding machine guns, anti aircrafts, and rocket lunchers into the G?
