I ordered the Husky mats, and sent them back for two reasons.

1. Driver side didn't fit properly. The hole in between the plastic rings was drilled extra big to try and make up for it.

2. Two of the four plastic rings (one on each mat) were cracked, so I couldn't lock the post down. The weathertech doesn't have the plastic rings.

I can't comment on coverage between the two. But the plastic pieces on the Husky's are stupid.

At the end of the day, they're car mats, they hold dirt. Buy one, and enjoy!

Plastic Rings?...
I must have gotten 2011 design Husky Liners for my 2012 TE then. No carpet holder rings/clips, they do have a bunch of spikes on the underside that prevent them from shifting on the carpet. And, those mats fit perfectly, front and back.
Whatever floats your boat....this debate could go on forever.
I love my Husky Liners. :peace:

I tried to look for some Husky's and I can't find "Toyota" in the drop down menu. Almost as if they dont make the cargo liner for Toyota 4Runners..


Am I missing something here...?

Picture of one of the broken rings. If they were engineered better, these wouldn't be needed. Hopefully the people ordering Husky's have better luck!

You got the correct version for your TE. The 2013 4Runners have a twist type locking ring to hold the mats in place, so both Husky and Weathertech had to redesign their liners to accommodate the new mechanism. The 2012 and earlier had the hook fastener to hold the mats in place. You typically had to pull the hook out of the carpet if you went with the Husky liners in the earlier models.

Being a noob on this forum, i don't understand this post or what it has to do with floor mats.
 
2013 Weather Tech Question

My 2013 TE (I am a noob) is due to arrive any day now and I was going to order a set of Weather Tech floor liners. I do have one question, though. I felt a sample liner at a local store here and it seems like the plastic that is used could be slippery when wet (snow, rain, etc.). Has anyone had any issues with their foot slipping? I have always used OEM rubber mats so that is where I am coming from. Thanks for any help!

Sorry, got busy over the weekend, and forgot to respond.

Yes, they will be more slippery than OEM. I haven't had any real issues, other people might, if they're not expecting.

In order of how slippery they are:

1. Husky - no texture
marginal between 1 and 2
2. Weathertech - some texture
3. OEM - they're rubber, so less slippery of the bunch. But also less coverage.

Yep, I'd say the Huskies are a little thicker, and a little more "rubbery."
