The power window blues

Hey guys, just picked up an 89 V6 Runner this afternoon and I'm having some power window issues. When I got it the passenger window was rolled down and the switch on the drivers side that controls the passenger side was broken. The master switch does roll down the driver window and also works the locks however. The passenger side door switch does nothing.

So I used a flat head screw driver and managed to get the broken switch on the drivers side to make contact so at least I can get the window up. The passenger side still does nothing. I've read the contacts in the switch could be corroded, so I'm gonna try soaking it in some pb blaster to see if it makes an improvement.

Ideally I would like to get both window switches functioning either by making my own switches, or by buying replacements. It probably couldn't be too hard to make my own switch set using 3 on-off-on switches from the local parts store if I can find the wiring diagram. The other choice is to buy replacements if they aren't too much money. It seems easy enough to find the passenger switch, but every master switch I see a picture of is completely wrong. Any help? FWIW I don't see any part numbers on the master switch either.

Oh also the rear window doesn't work at all and neither does the rear wiper, so I'm gonna have to delve into that, but it can wait for the time being. I might just see if I can get it down and not worry about it because I want to put a soft top on it.

Something I was wondering, is it possible to convert to crank windows? I'd kinda prefer that anyway.

Congrats on the new truck. I'm no help with the power windows, but yes you can convert to crank windows. Your glass shouldn't change, you'd just want to get a pair of manual regulators and crank handles for each side. You can keep you existing door panels and punch holes for the cranks, or replace them with door panels from a truck w/o power windows.
