Maybe the Rescue Lex or Rescue X or something like that? Kinda a copy of the old 4Runner's name, but just a thought.

Remember this? Won't get another rig unless "I'm forced out of it by some disaster" ?

Haha. Truck looks good though!

i ran down behind the outter seals, and down the B pillar between the front and rear doors, inside of flexable loom. i had to drill some small like 1/8" or 3/16" holes to run my wires through -one hole per wire, so i think like 4 holes per side. it works great because when i take my rack off i can just lay the wires down in under the outer seals...

as far as from there, they are all ran behind the interior trim panels to the firewall and through a hole and then along the motor side of the firewall to my relays...

What seat covers are those?

I sent the "thing". Let me know if you need anything else.

Now, what the hell is going on in this thread? I have not checked in on it in way too long apparently. I know for a fact you know better than anybody not to sell it, and you never explicitly said you sold it.. just that someone else drove away in it.

Well the rescue runner was spotted and I got an opportunity drive it again... It came out for a special event/occasion and it was great to see it on the road. There is most definitely a huge difference in driving characteristics between it and my Lexus. I can't believe I used to daily drive that thing, wow its underpowered. I think it needs a 1uz...

ok ok ok so apparently the cats out of the bag, but in all fairness i never closed the bag or tied it off, i just left it alone...

so first things first, yes my runner was up for sale for a while -technically everything i own is for sale, if you have the right amount of money. i dont think $16k was too much to ask for my runner, i know others would argue or disagree and thats fine. but good luck building a rig like this for under that. and yes i did watch someone else drive off in it, they were taking it to their shop to do the light bar mounts, which never got done and yeah... im kinda bummed but what can i say or do. im not gonna mention the name of the shop, cause i dont think he intentionally ment to blow me off, i know how it goes, im a lower priority and very low volume order... and after all its his loss, he put all the hours into measuring and mocking up a template and putting it into CAD ect, he never calls me back to come get the mounts, he never sees any money. so im not out anything. and the light bar got put on the another vehicle. -so that was the post about watching my 4runner get driven away by someone else, and it was for the better or something like that.

i bought the GX back in Dec. as my new daily driver, as the 4runner was getting a little small for the family -kids grow fast, and it would be nice to have a second 4wd for winter(snow and ice) for the wife to drive. the 4runner was also needing some attention that i was not really ready to give it, nor could i afford to have it down. so the decision was made to get a new vehicle. that decision came with the agreement that it will not turn into "another 4runner", meaning no "big heavy bumpers and skid plates bla bla bla"(-wife).

anyhow it was a good thing we did get a new vehicle, as i was so used to driving the 4runner i didnt know how bad things really were. the back end was super lose(yeah i know leaving that open for a ton of puns), lets just call it a backdoor slut. anywhats it needs all new bushings in the rear links as they are im sure the originals that are from '97 and have 300k on them. then i discovered a pretty bad rear axle seal leak on the drivers side, and then one day when Jaketino was over at the house the 4runner had a meltdown/hissy fit about the GX and decided to piss her pants(blew the radiator) right in front of the house. so it got put in time out(locked up beside the house). anyhow yeah so not much had been done with it in the 6months other than a start up about once a month and run for a couple mins, and a few washes. then this SAR fundraiser/T4R meet n greet was happening so i decided to replace the radiator with one i had bought right after it blew but never installed. but there was this issue of me blowing out my back(again) last week 3 days before the event, so i loaded up on meds and made some calls, got a couple people who where dumb enough to come help me, Jaketino and my neighbor, and we had it done in a day -never work on your car high[on pain meds and muscle relaxers], you lose stuff and forget things like a 90yo with dementia... but we got it in and back together and also rewired my fans(origonal problem). but that still left me with a lose rear end, and blown head gasket(overheating one -or two to many times figuring out the cooling system last summer). but she ran and held coolant!

so saturday morning comes and i had Brandon come over and drive the GX as while i drove the 4runner over to the meet n greet. had a good time talked with a few of the guys, but again i was in a lot of pain so i was not my self and didnt get to interact as much as i wanted. plus i was helping out with the SAR end of things and representing that end. -i totally spaced on taking pictures, but did have a nice talk with Rcastle(thanks for that link) and hooch goblin. i also chatted briefly with jbstrd, and Orlyg1521 who is the owner of MetalTechs old 5th gen -such a awesome rig and such a "sleeper" too! it was also great to see MyHigh and your new lights, those are sexy!, i cant wait to get mine. and once again a huge thanks to Brian at @Top Shelf Synthetics for stepping up and helping out with some raffle prizes. ill get back to you and let you know how much we raised. but yes thank you again it was awesome and and we had a great time, i just hope next year it will be sunny and not raining.

anyhow yeah i still probably wont be driving the runner much untill its got new links in the rear, and new seals etc. in it. and then i still have to figure out what im gonna do with the motor. im down on power(not sure if i have a bad o2 or a plugged cat (acceleration isnt much different from 1/4 throttle to WOT other than the noise, and i can feel a hesitation...) so im at a cross roads now, do i replace the o2 and replace the headgaskets, or do i just source a 1uz and do the swap and forget about all my power issues for good. i have wanted to build a nice 3.4, but i just dont think the money is worth it, i mean i can have 4.0 v8 in there for the same price or cheaper as a build SCd 3.4. so thats where i stand. but for now the truck is back drive-able under its own power so if needed i can use it on a search or recovery

this rock has moved so much... when this trail opened it was up at the top and the entrance to the trail, now its down about 40-50' into the trail...

here it trys to take my flare off...

and here it rolls up and out pushing me over to the edge of the trail... the edge isnt quite a drop off, but if you got a tire off the trail youd probably roll, and me being up this high like that would have defiantly rolled down the hill till i hit a tree big enough to stop me or the trail below. that was scary.

Your snorkel

well i saw this thing about 3 weeks ago on craigslist and wanted it so bad but didnt have the cashs(the guy was asking $200), and anyhow the guy is selling his 4runner and bought a new fender cause his old one had a dent in it and didnt want to drill a hole in the new fender so put this up for sale separately. well when i saw the add posted a second time i responded and told him i wanted the snorkel, but had to wait for my tax return. he said he would hold it so i no issues giving him his full asking price. then i got a some extra money back from a loan to a friend almost a year ago(wasnt expecting to ever see it again) and so cost to me out of pocket was only $100, the prefilter is over $100 just by it self. anyhow its going on my rig tomorrow. the guy even threw in the hole saw bit he bought when he originally installed it.

his runner is a silver 2001 SR5 with 137k and ARBs F/R w/4.88 gears, TRD Tundra front coils with OME 890s and OME shocks. an ARB front bumper with a Warn M8000. just had the TB and WP done and put on brand new 285 dura tracs. he replaced the radiator recently and put in a external trans cooler as well. hes asking $11900. i have a friend whos been looking for one ever sense she totalled her defender 90 last year on mt hood, and so shes buying it from the guy. personally with as clean as his rig is, and what he has done to it, i dont think is is too far off with his asking price. to me it seams vary fair and reasonable. its a middle aged guy so i dont get the feeling that its been abused and hammered, there are really no dents on the truck that i could see either. if i had the money id of bought the truck too...

anyhow back to my build, im gonna try and install this thing tomorrow and get some pics of it for you guys, cause i know we all love pictures!

Hello I wante to ask u if u knew the specifics for ur snorkel where to get it was it for a Tacoma or 4Runner and is there a specific name
