Hi All.
I don't usually do build threads for my cars or bikes but I figured this time it will probably be worth documenting what I will be doing to the T4R.
My build is heavily inspired by DesetDawg's beautiful rig and many others that I have been combing through the forums in the last couple of months.
The base is a 2015 Trail edition (TEP in US?) in magnetic gray I named Tinman.
UPDATE #1Wrap done
I use to own a small coupe/hatch car and while it was fun thrashing it around, it just wasn't big enough to haul my equipment when I worked. I'm a Videographer by trade so the bigger interior capacity is a nice change. On top of that I have way too many hobbies that requires me to go to the great outdoors so this rig will see its fair share of mud and rocks.
Update #1 -05/04/2015
Currently the car is sitting at the car wrap guys getting the vinyl wrap applied. I figured vinyl wrapping the car to be the better option as opposed to getting pinstriped by bushes and rocks and having to repaint panels all the time. It is just peel and re-apply; plus having the added benefit of changing the color to your hearts desire every 5-6 years. Or sooner, if you have money burning in your pocket.
In progress/done:
- Vinyl wrap entire car in 3M brushed titanium with satin black accents
- Gobi Stealth roof rack
- LED swap
- Headlight bulb swap
To be done:
- Rear diff mod
- Add method NV wheels
- Change rubber to Cooper discovery STT 285/70/17
- Possible lift/leveling kit (haven't decided which, depends if I will still be able to get into parking structures)
- 40 inch curved LED light bar for front and single row mini light bars for the rear.
- Front bumper TBD
- Rear bumper TBD
- Bushwacker fender flares (when they finally release them)
- Winch system TBD
Lots of pictures to come down the road probably videos too since that is what I do. Thanks for the read!
