Just remember that in double low nothing will stop the truck, not even your brakes. So be careful so you don't have to repair stuff. No need to rush the SAS. You will get a feel pretty fast for stuff off road. all that torque can snap stuff pretty fast so just go easy at first. hehehe

Thanks man. I'm not very patient so getting shit done fast works for me. I've been waiting over a year to save the funds to get dual locked and dual cased. Once those funds where in the bank it was game on. lol

I like to wheel technically. That does not include blipping the throttle or hitting objects hard. It's the whole reason I dual cased. Slow and in control is what I aim for. Now I can go over slower and have even more control. It's wheeling and things can and do break but I like my chances of staying running a lot more with the dual/dual combo then without. lo

I know the feeling. My last project with the tubbed wheel wells was miserable. It was over 110° some days and hotter in the vehicle. I drank so much water and beer.

Crawl Box Is Mounted​

So the last piece of the puzzle for me has just been completed. I've gone back and forth with two ideas to mount my crawl box. After looking at the photo posted upthread I decided to duplicate it.

I used a Marlin T-case mount, some 1/4" plate steel and the factory cross member. The beauty of this design is it does not interfere at all with my Savage skids. It fully supports the crawl box using the factory cross member. I can still remove everything with ease.

I had a local guy I know do the welding. All told it took us 1.5 hours from raw steel to finished product. At least 30 minutes of that was us bullshitting about life. We used no CNC machines or fancy CAD stuff. Just two dudes with a tape measure and an idea. I'm stoked with the results. It's plenty strong to handle any torque that lo/lo throws at it.

Time for a test run this weekend.

I also ordered some fake leather to make some shifter boots. Guess it's time to learn how to sew. lol

I am going to have to figure timing to meet you guys at the trailhead. Have to work Wednesday so I will drive as much Wednesday night and finish up Thursday morning. I also need to be at work sometime Monday - preferably before noon. So I need to figure out departure logistics. Looks like 12 hours of driving including gas stops.

Do you have drivelines yet? Have you driven it yet with the new mount? I'm curious how much NVH it added. It probably feels great to have the drivetrain more planted, but it's gotta add SOME additional NVH.

Drivelines went in Monday. I don't have the skids back on yet but the test drive without skids went great. No extra noise or vibrations. It drives just like it did before the duals went in.

OK. I'm pissed.

So I placed an order for Kings all the way around on July 6th. So three weeks ago today. I sent Filthy an email today to inquire on whether or not King would have my shocks to me by Aug 10th. That would have been 5 weeks . I was expecting 5 to 6. That's what I was told and that's what King has posted everywhere.

Filthy got back to me. They said I'm still 5-6 weeks out from seeing the shocks. Not what I was expecting. Since King hasn't even started on these yet I'm half tempted to just cancel the order. Missing an estimated date by over 50% isn't even close to acceptable to me. Am I over reacting here?

I don't think that expecting someone to do what they said is unreasonable but things do come up, especially if it's a supply issue. What I WOULD expect is notification that the delivery date changed so I could make the decision you are now facing. Things were going so good...sorry.

I’ll be in Bishop this Wednesday 8/1 around lunch time. I have a handheld Baofeng with a battery eliminator if you want a loaner. Fishing 8/1-8/5 in Bishop/ Little Lakes Valley/ Rock Creek Lake/ Crowley/ Mammoth during the trip out there. I even have a “builder bracket” you can use on your oh shit handle Ram Mount made by a guy from Expo Portal. I have it set up to use a 1” size B Ram ball. Let me know and I can bring it with me.

Good to hear the NVH isn't even noticeable! Wow, that's awesome. I've had poly bushings on a couple different rigs, and both times they made a HUGE impact on comfort.
I would be pissed about the Kings too. I would hit up King and see if they happen to give a shit that you're trying to get them before a big wheeling event, and that the 8-9 week lead time you've currently been given is pretty crazy for an off-the-shelf shock! Maybe that doesn't matter, because maybe even the "off-the-shelf" shocks are still made to order. 8-9 weeks just seems more like a custom shock lead time. Maybe [MENTION=57546]4-Ripcord[/MENTION] could help us understand the situation better. I have no grasp on how huge or small Kings' shop really is. Maybe it's smaller than I've assumed it is.
