Meet Me Mutt
I sort of thought I wanted to do the Trail convert even before buying the Limited. I knew for sure after owning it for one week and burying the silly front skirts into a pile of snow at the end of my driveway that I should have been able to plow through with a minivan.
Again, nothing really new here that has not been done before. Gary's (Harper) parts list was dead on and saved hours of research. I owe you more than a few beers, partner. Total parts cost about $2K. I'm lucky in having a friend who works at a body shop to buy all at their cost. He also painted / clear coated the parts so my total cost was very minimal. To confirm the parts list I did have a local body shop work up a estimate and they come up with $ 5.5K. Yikes!
I'm very happy that I decided to have the parts painted to match the truck instead of leaving them flat black as I think it retains the Limited's elegance.
The quality of BudBuild's Sliders, Skid Plates and Winch Plate are absolutely perfect. Took a few calls to him to get it all installed in the right order but he was very helpful. The SS Diff Plate is on its way.
Decided on the Warn M8000-S Winch and they are sending a Black Fairland which I think will blend nicely. Rope and wiring still need to be done. I also got the wireless remote which should make life more better if I ever need to use it.
Of course new cup holders needed to be installed but the process was way less dramatic the second time around.
Pup Approved!
Getting closer but not done yet.....Stay tuned.
