yeah but you never know. I mean I'm sure a few of you are taking a crap right now while reading this... and that can provoke anger. haha.

But seriously though. It was either buy this one for $1500 with a blown engine and a spare engine to be rebuilt, or buy the slightly newer Grand Cherokee 5.2 with crappy paint that ran well for $1k. I like to think I made the right choice.

Besides wagons have 4-doors(like a 2G!).

it is moderately capable, in stock form. i like that - i don't need to modify it for it to be suitable for what i use it for, which is get to work (and work for me involves a fair amount of travel on unmaintained roads). it's a step up from what my legacy was able to do, and that got me in plenty of places. however, its primary disadvantage (the legacy) was lack of ground clearance.


you (the collective you, not you QC) are deluding yourselves if you think that a stock 4r has more off-road capability than a stock 70s CJ. the 4r might be close, but it isn't more capable. there appears to be a lot of 4r insecurity disguised as jeep ridicule by quite a few members. whatever, i'm happy with all of my vehicles (cj, dodge, 4r), and was happy with my legacy.


wagons have lots of door combinations. i truly was looking for a willys wagon to replace my legacy. those are primarily 2-door. in the end, i couldn't find a willys in my price range that would work well, and then i started looking at 1st gens. done.
