If so, that was me, Bighaeb in that forum, that started it.

i did not know my 4runner:
liked to drop my groceries out the back
was anti puddle
had serious cup holder issues

I know what you mean with the groceries. Either get an aftermarket net to secure the stuff or drop your rear windshield and access the stuff at first to ensure you don't lose anything. I had this happen with a gallon can of paint that opened upon impact with the ground. NOT COOL....

In response to the tipster that mentioned cutting water bottles to function as coin holders and to the respondent that said to leave the top on to minimize noise of the coins jangling together (yes, I am too lazy to go back and get their names, sorry)...

I have taken a craft store piece of felt, cut it to fit and carefully glued it down to the inside of the console box. I've got a mag light, dental floss, glasses case, paper clips, who knows what all, in my console with nary a sound. The felt sheets are about $1 and I use an aerosol trim glue and make sure I get the edges so it doesn't peel back. It looks like it was installed at the factory and can easily be vacuumed when needed.

Another thing I did to my Tundra, never investigated whether there's an opportunity with my 4Rs, was pulling a console trim piece, drilling a hole that would not be seen when the trim was reinstalled, and using a can of aerosol expanding foam insulation to surround my cup holder. Viola! I have a built in insulated cup holder.

I had the same problem until we moved to Salem, Oregon. I think I have seen the glare only 2 times in 7 months.

I posted this a couple of weeks ago in the "What did you do..." thread but seems more appropriate here. I did not know this hidden compartment was included with the slide-out tray. It is well hidden and not likely to be discovered by the average perp, so maybe good for valuables if left parked somewhere?

At least two broken down AR's fit in there.

Folding second row head restraints improves visibility ... Doh!

Put this one into the head slap category :doh:, but after a month of thinking the rear view visibility sucked, it finally dawned on me to fold down the second row head restraints.

I drive with my headrests down in the rear. I also have the windows open a lot and no joke, the wind at 50+mph will usually blow the head rests back up. :mad2:

Nope, it was from a bmw forum. Raptors did not exist at that time.

Cool truck, awesome ride. I rode i one recently and its like an offroad lincoln town car.

I use to just use atrac vs the mts cause of its more aggressiveness when rock crawling.

Recently I gave mts another shot and realize it stays on above 3mph yay

I have a remote starter installed by the dealer at the purchase of the vehicle. I have two FOBs that I have to carry all the time, the smart key and the remote start fob. I hoped to find out that the oem smart key could start the truck remotely, and get rid of the second fob, but after several tries, it did nothing

Was this the stock remote starter that you ordered a separate fob for?

We have the factory remote start but as others mention it is almost useless with the existing setup.

I don't think my 2011 does this. Was trying tonight while driving to Raton

And you can use mud/sand/snow or whatever that one setting is while in 4HI, which is also nice.

I have the factory remote start and I agree it's useless. This is one aspect that I feel the jeep was better at.

I hate that the 4Runner cuts off when you unlock it. Ours is only on one remote as well

the toyota where I had ordered the vehicle didn't install ''stock'' remote start, they used some contractors that installed aftermarket remote start on the new cars for them

I don't know if the 4Runner does this but it might be a good idea to check. A friend on a business trip to Montreal started her rental car last winter and got out to clean the snow off the windows. After a minute or two the doors locked locking her out. Took a couple hours to get a rental guy out to help.
